So...I have nothing new...but am on a knowledge quest....(sorry:rolleyes:)
Some of you may know I have a daughter who has an lifelong illness which makes me think of food......everyday. This leads me to watch and read many studies....movies...books on nutrition.
So....to my point....I stumbled across 'sick..fat...and nearly dead' on Netflix and since have incorporated high volumes of plant nutrients through juicing and smoothies. I've cut out most refined and processed food and am working towards a whole foods vegan (mostly) approach.

Ok...the point...they say....well really I have two questions...
#1...I still love meat and alcohol but have cut way back....however this weekend we've had family over...food and drinks....and I've had hardcore...can't sleep a fucking wink....insomnia.
Is it the food being reintroduced back into my system? Thoughts?

#2. I'm not looking for.lectures about vegan vs not. I've done so much research over my daughter's life so I'm okay 'finding study based fact'...but....I'm kind of shocked about the research on dairy and protein as well as high vitamin diets.....it completely contradicts the traditional food pyramid and nutritionist opinions/ proposed health benefits yet various studies lay out the benefits.
So my question....anyone have experience with vegan, high dose plant based diets through juicing etc.?

* for the record....I feel fantastic (except these last two nights)...and no...I'm not just juicing ...I like food too much.

someone on lit told me about a movie called "forks over knives". i haven't watched it yet :( but she recommended it because of all the incurable illnesses my wife had. never really got to a point where i could watch that and put the information to use. :( :(

I am not vegan but I have a friend who actually followed a raw diet. She does eat cooked food now but is still very careful about what she eats. She had many health issues prior to going raw and traditional medicine did not help. Since changing her diet (essentially mostly a plant based diet), she has never been healthier.
I have done a cleanse several times (not just plant based). I found the first few days difficult but then felt much better. Your body needs some time to adjust. It's a shock to the system (a good one).
Just give it some time!
I truly believe the saying 'you are what you eat'....and detoxification from bad food can be like any addiction. I'm not saying I won't eat meat once in awhile..because I like it!! Except for the lack of sleep I feel much better already.
I  your nipples so I couldn't agree more... Now bring them to us now!!
Done!
It has been great catching up with everything that I have missed. You have taken some superb pictures while I've been away, and there are the gifs and the video.

I love how you play with your breasts, so teasing and sensual. It drives me nuts . I also love those sneaky top raising moments in the gym, and your gif reveals.

Your tease pictures were really erotic, and the red attire and your breasts stretching it. Wow

Thanks so much for posting you too, if that makes sense. I think that you'll get what I'm referring to :rose::kiss:.
It all makes sense....and thank you so much!
ummmmmmmmm WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
*pounce*
Sean's lips are tightly attached to Kitty's nipples. I hope you don't mind if it's just hers attached to you 😈😝😄
Deal!
Where have I been  I didn't know you had a daughter that was sick. I only juice on occasion so I'm not sure. Do you try and stay away from gluten I know it has been in the news lately about Celiac disease.
Well...I dont talk about it alot. She has type 1 diabetes...ever since she was just over a year .I often spend most of my time explaining why it's not type 2...and that there's no such thing as a 'sugar free pie/cake/whatever' . It will never be cured with diet but we do strive for all of us to eat better and have heard all the 'trendy' new diets. We don't deliberately stay away from gluten although type 1s are apparently more suceptable.

I have watched "forks over knives" and "vegucated". I've also done a teeny tiny bit of research on the 'China project'.
Putting the info to use really just has to happen and it just 'clicked' for me

Gladly

As a point of contention, and from someone that describes himself as a Bohemia and foodie, I do not believe your insomnia is necessary from the consumption of meat and alcohol, but rather your sudden change in diet.

The issue that I take w/ vegan and vegetarian diets is the lack of various proteins and especially ammo acids. As a suggestion, why not consider a moderate diet that is inclusive of animal proteins taken in small amounts. Further, I would suggest an increase your intake of dark greens and various vegetables that are high in frolic acid and beta carotene

just my two cents

Always in favor of a knowledge quest! Sorry to learn of daughter's lifelong challenge with Type 1 diabetes. Cutting out refined and processed foods does the whole family good, as does high volumes of plant nutrients. I am a big believer in grinding rather than juicing my raw fruits and veg. I still eat occasional meat and seafood because i too just love to eat.

My guess about the insomnia echoes RunningJib's -- I would think it is the change. Once the body is acclimated to something, adding former favorites back in gives it pause. Good luck rolling with the re-adjustments when company leaves. Hope you get some naps, at least!

Afternoon Ruby. It's been a bit since I posted. Love all the new updates. Like many others, you sitting on your heels is such a great picture.

As someone married to a person with a digestive disorder I can say while I am not thin, but I am aware of what I eat. It is interesting you bring up the food pyramid. There is something to be said for the number of people who have issues with dairy or grains. While I cannot go vegan I admit that when my wife’s issues force us to go very natural or more paleo in the diet we do, I feel a lot better. So there is something to be said for kicking the food pyramid to the curb and eating more naturally.

I too have my issues… so I am weak for sugar, red meat, and whiskey… But I do like it. LOL

Thanks everyone for your input..pm....or thread. I'll try to get to responses asap.
For those of you interested I thought I'd share some smoothie progress.
After consuming high vegetable and fruit (80/20 ish) smoothies/juice for breakfast/snacks I've been ablet to drop caffeine and diet coke without any cravings or headaches. (A big deal since I could drink a pot a day and at least one glass of d.coke)

For those who say...why not just eat it? Well, this a.m.'s smoothie had one enormous carrot, I orange pepper, I frozen banana, I cup blueberries and four cups spinnach. I'd be eating forever...and the juicing (my.blender almost juices) allows the vitamins in to your system faster.

So now that I feel like I've spammed you all.....have a pic of my breakfast....and then ruby pics to reward you for not hightailing it through my infomercial.

(I had to keep adding spinnach as it blended)

Not wishing to be disparaging to your breakfast, as I'm sure it's very tasty, but given the choice between your or that, I pick you :D!

Seriously though, those are two very enticing photos .
