Room 131

That always helps, that's for certain. The other thing I was blessed with was getting a job in a good district. When I graduated, I didn't even bother applying anywhere I didn't want to be... interviewed the last half of June that year and was happy to accept the job I did. Definitely lucked out in that... had it not fallen through the way it did, I might've had to have applied to bigger city schools later in the summer.

The local high school here is awesome, but every student at my college does a field experience there at least once, so they get their pick from a bunch of graduates that would like to be hired by them. Not much of a chance to get in there.

I'm not sure exactly where I'd like to go yet, but I have the next year and a half to figure that out. My only big problem is that I'll probably have to get married before I can apply for a job, for lack of a green card. Inconvenient as hell.

Yipes, I'd imagine it must be! Would your S.O. be willing to move wherever you do get a teaching job?

*drinking the last of my coffee* All righty, all... time to get back to r/t.

ari and jen, it was a pleasure making your e-acquaintances. :rose:

To everyone else who helped get my thread started and redecorate my room, thanks for getting my weekend off to a great start! :)

To answer your question real quick, my S.O. would do just about anything to get out of the midwest as fast as possible, so that's not a problem

How've you been? Anyone want a cookie? I just got done with my baking marathon. :)

I'm kinda getting a kick seeing you as a virgin! You'll be "experienced" at 30 posts, and "really experienced" at 100 (and be able to post an av then, too).

Oh, and I'm not carrying. :p

Well, at least you've got that going for you... and sure, I'd love a cookie! I haven't even started any of my baking, yet. What'd you make?

Oh, and as to how I am? Slightly frustrated... grrrr!

Sugar cookies to frost (yes, I'm a little kid when it comes to that), then marzipan cookies and three-layer-hazelnut-nougat cookies. If that sounds a little foreign, my apologies, but they're all very good. :)

Hey Tolyk!

Pretty well, thanks... a relaxing weekend, so far. And you?
Well, I'm working all weekend, but beyond that I'm purdy good. Nice to meet you, just curious, what do you teach?

Aw, I'm sorry! Nothing serious, I hope? :rose:
Nah... (that's why it's only slightly frustrated!) My b/f has his daughter for the weekend... they came over for supper tonight, and we were having a good time, but rather than stay the night here, they went back to his place. : pout emoticon :

Nice to meet you, as well, and thank you for coming in. :) I teach high school students how to use math.

I like how you phrased that :) Math was always my favorite subject back in school... I've since lost my appreciate of it *chuckle* Don't need much math working with cameras ;)
