Hell 43% of Americans are simply going to vote for Romney because he's not Obama. It's gonna be a fucking blood bath. Miles was right about everything. By this time next year Romney will be president.

In practice it (generally) does. However due to the Electoral College the president doesn't actually need a majority of the population.

At the time I think Pennsylvania and New York were the primary culprits actually. It's been a while since I brushed up on the populations of the thirteen colonies at the founding of the country.
