I have a much needed romantic getaway planned for my darling wife and I. We have a super cabin in the mountains reserved.

I've picked up some candles and massage oil today. I'm going to have fresh flowers delivered before we arrive.

I'm kind of at a loss for further ideas. You guys have any?

To this day...

A couple of things...

You can buy flower petals and sprinkle them on and around the bed. If you draw her a bath, they work good in the water as well.

I used to do romantic things all the time just like you're doing, but the most romantic thing my ex said I ever did was below.

http://www.nameastar.net/

There are millions of stars, most simply have numbers. You can name one after her and it actually goes in the star-registry under her name. They give you a chart to help you locate the star as well.

As I told my ex when I did it, she is immortalized in the heavens.

Definitely her favourite bubble bath or bath oil so she (or both of you!) can have a nice, relaxing bath.

soft music.

finger foods, or a picnic type spread, so neither of you will have to spend time cooking (unless you enjoy cooking together, as that can be fun and sexy)

a book (perhaps of erotica?) that you can read aloud to each other.

And I LOVE the idea of a naming a star :)

Have lots of fun!
Georgia, wishing somebody would kidnap me away to a cabin in the woods somewhere for a weekend

You know what? My advice for other ideas is ....................... don't get any! You've got a super mountain gettaway planned with flowers, candles, and massage oil. Don't try to overdo it! You don't want to overthink it. Have a romantic relaxing time (and report back to us with all the juicy little details).

Overplanning can lead to disappointments. Just go with the flow, spontaneity is the spice which heats up romance.

tell her

as you finish relaxing her with the warmed oils, tell her you came on to Lit and asked for advice from complete strangers on what she may like, see how she responds to that. Use your own brain mate, she is your wife.

I'm on the fence about the planning issue. Sure, it's great to be in the moment and let things progress naturally....but having a rough outline of what you want to do for her is a good idea.

A walk, a skinny dip, a blanket and a bottle of wine under the stars, mood music, dessert to be eaten off each other's bodies....you have to think about some of this to get the idea rolling.
