Hi folks,

Seeing as I'm getting back in touch here, I thought it only appropriate to suggest (yet another) challenge. And, seeing as this is litEROTICA, I didn't want to miss on that part either...put then I thought, hold on, what about romance? Oh, that too might be erotic, or it might be longing, or somewhere in between - just so long as it's not cliche. Being something of a romantic myself (I can feel Ang and Cordie going green with envy from here, bwhahahaha) and yes, being in Roma I figure, why not.

To The Stranger Beside Me
Would that the lady beside me grant me her kiss
her lips to inspire my pen to write.
Words that please the lady is all I wish
as I wish her to remain within my sight.

Her beauty would keep the pen flowing
caressing paper with a feather light touch
for such pleasure is a seed worth sowing
but only if the lady grants me such luck.

Her smiling lips alone grant this
though she kiss a cheek, a hand, or will she will
the slightest pleasure I dare not miss
though a single kiss may be my fill

And should it please the lady, I hope to find
that I should return the pleasure of a kiss in kind.

~Any style, any length, just so long as it's got that romance. Good luck,

      When I am alone
      you are with me.
      When I am not alone
      I miss you deeply.
      We have been together
      and we have never touched.
You are my dream of the future -
Lover from a thousand past lives.

(okay, so I cheated by copying my poem from another thread. Still. :) )

LoL!

Hey, you kidding, I'm gonna go dig up my own poem from that thread

:D

You're so far
I can almost feel you
dreams of you
keep me awake at nights
visions of you
screen my sight

So many beautiful words,
a garden of lyric delight,
a volcano of superlative,
a monument of rhymes,
a Mona Lisa spoken.

I would give you those things,
if my pen sprouted wings.

But I'm not a poet so this will have to do:
I love you, baby. Do you love me too?

Une bec..

Je t'adore, mon amour,
Tu es la lumiere de la lune.
Si claire, si fraiche, si bon mon homme,
Je t'aime seulement, alors!

one day someone will
    beck to my call
    wait on tongue-tip
    matter mutually
it will be me who can
    return nocturnal sweets
    wait with knowledge
    be worth and worth's smile

Field of Dreams

Wandering in a field of dreams,
I think of the times we have shared,
Good times and bad,
Sharing the intimate details of our lives,
Comforting each other when we are sad,
Rejoicing together when we are happy,
Growing in our love of each other,
This field of dreams is my special place,
Where I retreat to when I am missing you,
Where I come to seek inspiration,
Where I celebrate my love of you,
and where I go when I lay down to rest to once again be
Wandering in a field of dreams.

New here but thought I would chime my own poem in as well :)

WORLD WITHOUT PEACE

The rain slowly trickels down
caressing soft the gentle ground
The room is filled with candle light
Slowly being drowned by night
The flame goes out the room goes dark
And a sudden noise starts a dog to bark
Could it be, is it him?
Then across the room is a candles dim
A single tear she begins to cry
And with just one touch he dries her eye.

With gentle arms, and gentle hands
He touches her as his heart demands
I had to hold you one last time
And see this beautiful love of mine
The sky is colored, the moon is black
I'll terribly miss you, but I must go back.
With tears in thier eye's, he slowly departs
And leaves a feel of two broken hearts.

Nine months later a baby arives
She prayed all night that his dad was alive
She sent a letter declaring her love
and picture of her baby sent from above
She checked every day for a response in the mail
But reading the letter he face went pale
Compliments came on a cute baby boy
He alway's dreamed of his pride and joy
But his plane flew between the line of fire
Intercepting the shoots desire.

She never did well at goodbye's
But he's gone from the touch and love in her eye's
It kind of makes you wonder why
Innocent people have to die
Wether defending your country or walking the street
A world without peace is never complete.

How about a quickie? Poem that is....

She lightly strokes my cheek
as we lay quietly
in the chaos
that was our
pristine bed.
Now pillows are scattered
and covers are on the floor
But the violence
of our passion
feeds the calm
that surrounds us now.
The look you gave me at dinner,
The lingering touch for dessert,
The innuendo play with your eyes
Left me raging
with desire,
just as you’d planned.
But the look that creates desire
becomes the look that inspires
me to love you even more.
She says little
but conveys much as
She lightly strokes my cheek.

Okay, if other people can resurrect then so can I. Besides, I get to poke at somebody....:D

Moonlight plays across a sandy beach.
A beautiful woman lies within my reach.
Lazy days and lust-filled nights
Leaves me feeling….just right.

I reach out a hand and what do I feel,
Your hardened nipple tells me it’s real.
Together we’ve had joy beyond measure
And many nights filled with Guilty Pleasure…

Well I posted one in new poems yesterday and it was new i tell you and *yawn*.......night. :D

Thank you, it's lovely.

Romance?
What do I know of romance?
What do I know
of Love's Distresses?

Historically
I've had french fries
pushed around my mouth
by some young boy's tongue
but romance?
What do I know of that?

One October day
I got drunk in a white dress
with some guy in black
I think I danced with a gay guy
and the flowers were all wrong
You'd think that day there'd
be romance.
but what do I know of that?

I remember one summer
when I drove around with
this curly haired woman
she opened my blossom
with the wet of her tongue
I remember heat
but not romance.
What do I know of that?

I know the span of a life time
in the moment before a kiss
I know the colours of a duck's embrace
I know the feel of dance under
a rain addicted sky
I know stolen glimpses
of earth's lust

Should I name them "romance"
I name them life

but Romance

oooof!

I didn't see all this feedback until now...

can you tell I follow that duck around?

Thanks, dripdrop, angelbaby and sugahduck, I am trying to find my voice with this one, my previous poetry was my voice, but from a different lifetime, I think. This one is more this century. *grin*

I'm cheating. This is an older poem. But is it romantic? I'll look to see if I have something more romantic, or maybe I'll just get crazy and do something drastic like... write a new poem!

Gathering of Lovers

I recall those auburn days
before leaves lay brittle,
when men made their way
to my valley haven
deep in mountains' ring.

They came with thunder,
words clashing beneath elms.
It was our season of change,
my days of decision.

I longed to drift downward
into the needs of my gentle poet,
to entwine his love,

then be swept up,
scattered to edges of want
by a lover who would have me
beg to fall.

It was our season of change,
my days of decision,
nights of hushed footsteps
heavy in the hall
for one left to wait.

Tangled in intimate sheets,
I shivered_in Autumn's touch
invited through open window.
In layers of him I covered closely,
took his warmth within
till his breath was quiet.

My whispered love lingered
long after I vanished
to be with another.

Easing back the darkness
over nude limbs,
first light slid into the room.
It was our season of change
and my day of decision.

Under elms we gathered,
the circle complete --
words silent without their sword.

My decision made,
one faded into the mountains,
the other lost in me.

Season had changed.

Eclipsed Souls

Our lives crossed paths not by chance
Cosmos conducting a ballet between our spirits
Pulling our strings an dictating the choices we made
Roads we travel carefully planned and construed right before our eyes
So that one day we would be by one anothers side
Every second of the day slowly ticked away
All the desicions we have made predicted by an orcle in time
Bringing us a step closer to eachothers entity's
Through the times we stumbled and cried
Faught the battles of opprobrium from society with all our strength
Clawing and sceaming for a taste of pure essence
Questioning the reality and existence we bring into our seprate symbiosis
Not realizing that outer metaphysical forces were guiding an pulling us closer together
Happenstance the day we met
Substantiality love bellowed by the elks
There calls of a eternal link whispered to us in the wind
Unconditional adoration implicit with the glancing of our eyes
Short breaths on eachothers skin burn with an unspoken affinity through out our asomatous continuance
Phenomenal eclipse of our souls cohered
Once again assuring our substances to mortaly congregate

I  You PJ

Your soul Eclipsing Mine:kiss:

I know PJ will be able to understand this

But I hope the rest of you will be able to see the symbolizism and that some of you may be able to relate it to a love in your life that totaly swept over you and eclipsed your heart and soul:rose:
