A married couple stay in character by removing their rings, sleeping in separate rooms, and the husband tells his parents they are preparing to divorce. His parents have been trying to split them apart since the day they met her.

Sorry, I don't get it.

Are they still sleeping together? the taboo is they are pretending to be divorced?

I did not think of taboo. I don't see how that would fit. One direction the story could go is the parents plan and fantasize about the divorce split until the couple renews their vows. The couple could have sex to celebrate cutting the parents out of their lives. They might also date other people during the roleplay, but they would need to be honest with their dates, maybe as swingers or looking for a threesome.

Breakups are as common as relationship beginnnings. There are many breakup stories to tell. Couples that enjoy emotional release through acting may enjoy acting in a breakup story. Behind many of those breakups and relationship conflicts, there are disapproving parents/in-laws.

I think the reason people are confused is because the 'kink' isn't really made clear from your messages. What's the sexual appeal? The fact that they'd get some sort of sweet revenge on the parents? Or roleplaying with each other as divorced people even in the bedroom where they obviously continue to make love, perhaps? Or is there an 'orgasm denial' angle where they don't touch each other or themselves for like a month, until they renew the vows, and then the sex is amazing because they've been craving it for all those days?

When writing an erotic story, there needs to be something enticing and spicy in there. Otherwise it's just a regular story.

Breakup stories work best as the last chapter in a series, unless you're going for happily-ever-after. There are various kinds of role plays that appear on this site, including a few I've written myself, but I'm not sure what can be done with a couple pretending to be divorced.

There is a BDSM trope, I'd call it, where couples play/pretend at having dominant and submissive roles with each other.

Thanks for replying and don't worry if people don't get it. I am interested in the psychology of sex, so I guess I'm trying to get into the minds of the husband and wife.

To me, this seems like

The pressure from the parents to divorce is more of a story prop than a sexual prop, there's some emotional payoff when the husband and wife sleep together despite the pressure from the parents. Like breaking away from oppression.

Why are the parents wanting them to break up? Is there some unfair reason and they see her as impure/unworthy of their son?

Are the characters sexually normal? (as in, vanilla sex, no fetish etc)

There are many possible reasons: wrong financial or social class, clingy or controlling parents don't want their kid to be independent, etc. Sometimes it's nothing more than an instant dislike.

Many fetishes are just fashion, an elaborate way to spend money on special gear and show it off to friends. If they have a fetish, it would be something without gear.

What about the two main characters? what are they like?

When they met, the husband thought foreplay means waking her up first. No, he needs to do more than that, but later she confused the issue by not waking him up first. So they had work to do early in their relationship about how to initiate.

Ideas, that spring up in my mind:
They find themselves in the routine and try to recreate the spark of the beginning, by first separating inhouse (moving into different bedrooms, not sharing meals etc and of course no sex for some time). This may lead to a hot scene of lovemaking after the time.
Both explore their own needs independently.
To take it further, they agree, that they are both free to date and hunt for sexual partners. Hot sex scenes with their dates. Both learning new things.
The new sex-partners can be brought into play with the parents to take revenge on them.
In parallel, they can roleplay, that they are "cheating" and become secret lovers again. E.g. taking their sex life out of the house.
At some stage, the "new" partners and the couple meet for a foursome.
And they lived happily ever after.

Ok, so quite young?

I'm not sure where you were thinking of going with this idea. but to me, it has a lot of possiblities, ranging from tragic, romantic, to farcical. And for me, that makes it a good idea! And it's why I read the threads in this forum.
