I'm sure it's been asked 100 times... but...

I have a story in ongoing series, wherein the characters have been established as adults (well over 18) In this chapter, they engage in a "schoolgirl" incest fantasy... it was just rejected with the "is anyone under 18" question...

Now, I was aware that Lit doesn't allow underage sex... but two adults play acting, i.e. doing a role play? Um... that's out of bounds? really? Anyone else have experience with this?

I have a scene similar to this in one of my Danica submissions, and it went through without a hitch. I made sure to establish regularly in the narrative that these were two adults engaged in role-play throughout the scene.

This can throw off the mood you are trying to set, pulling the reader into the fantasy with the characters, but it does help pass through the approval process.

It might be enough to heavily emphasize the fact they are adults at play before and after the scene, and put a note in the notes to the webmaster section of the submission pointing out the role-playing for the person checking the story for approval.

I would resubmit unchanged with explanation in the notes field.

As long as it is clear that the play actors are of legal age, their fantasy should not be against the rules - providing the sexual portions do not describe 'young' youthful' or use other words which indicate an attempt to circumvent the age restrictions.

I say several times in the story, "I was getting into this fantasy" or "I could tell he was completely in his role now" etc. to emphasize that it's a FANTASY :)

I think because it's a series, they probably just didn't read closely enough or remember that the characters are over 18. I resubmitted with an author's note at the top: All characters are over the age of 18. Hopefully that will do it.
