How many of these do you know, or can you guess? It'll be a good bit harder for the younger AH'ers to answer these - I'm pretty good at R & R trivia, and didn't know most of them.

Overheard at the dinner table recently:

"You know, I was about 30 before I realized One Toke over the Line, Sweet Jesus wasn't a gospel song."

My sister-in-law is still quite naive. :cathappy:

The Fender Stratpcaster that sold fpr $959,500 belonged to Eric Clapton

Who's Fender Stratocaster sold in 2004 at auction for $959,500?

Okay, got a few right and misread a question (would have been wrong anyway). Oh, and I think Long Tall Sally must have been the last the Beatles played in a paid concert. I do think Get Back was the last in they played at a concert, but it was free. But I could easily be wrong.

That was fun Cloudy, thanks.

8-tracks were still available in 1988???

I thought they died in the late 70's.

That's one of the meanest things I've ever heard of. How sad. (I would have guessed Mick Jagger.)

I only knew one answer, Zappa's brood.

Mind if I had some trivia questions as well?

Which 80s pop singer turned down the role of Marty McFly in "Back To The Future?"

He also turned down the gig to record "Dangerzone" for "Top Gun."

:D

A few others . . .

(tell me to back off if I'm stepping on your toes, Cloudy ;) )

What is Sting's real name?

Who learned to play guitar sitting on Stevie Ray Vaughan's amps in Gruene Music Hall, Gruene, Texas, and on "Austin City Limits?"

Who wrote 'Play That Funky Music White Boy?'

Which two childhood friends make repeat appearances in Bon Jovi songs?

Whose 'dream of being Elvis has all but passed me by?'

Who was Journey's original lead singer/songwriter?

Speaking of Journey, with whom did Neil Schon first play?

I'll throw in a few.

What band was originally known as the Moving SideWalks?

What album did Rolling Stone call the greatest live album ever recorded?

What live recorded song did Rolling Stone say contained the most famous catcall in history?

I'll throw in an easy one.

Who played lead guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the Beatles.

What band once went on tour with a collection of animals including a vulture, a long horn steer, a bison, and a rattle snake?

Who is the only triple inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Sting's real name is Gordon Sumner.

Neal Schon came to Journey from Santana, as did Gregg Rolie, who was technically the original lead vocalist, & wrote or co-wrote some of their stuff. But then you could mean Robert Fleischman, who was the first official lead vocalist, & co-wrote early classics such as "Wheel in the Sky".
