Alan Baker had just moved into his new suburban home. At the ripe old age of 48, he had sold his internet security consulting business for a bundle. He would still provide some consulting to the new owners, but, basically, he was his own man with enough money to do what he wanted, when he wanted to do it.
The first thing to do was move out of the city; finding a nice quiet family neighborhood, he paid cash for a typical 3-bedroom ranch and began to settle in. One bedroom became his office and, today, he was standing in the room filled with boxes, trying to get his office organized.
Hasn't met any of his neighbors yet, but the agent told him this was a good neighborhood . . . friendly and quiet.
After moving a few boxes around and starting to organize his desk, he grabbed a second cup of coffee and headed out to the deck on the back of his house with the morning paper. The neighbors, obviously husband and wife, were just leaving for work; he gave them a wave . . . guess I'll have to meet them later.
