Sinead O'Connor dies, aged 56

I honestly didn't really follow her at all.
I knew she was a singer.

May God lay his healing hands upon the hearts and minds of her family and friends.
May they rejoice, laugh and cry, at the lifetime of incredible memories they shared with their loved one, who now resides in the kingdom of heaven.

Heartbreaking. Not completely surprising, with all she'd been through, but no less a loss for that.

Best known to many for her cover of a Prince song, but even at 15 she was a spectacular songwriter in her own right.

Why should I blame her that she filled my days

Yes, her voice was truly exquisite. I never saw her in concert, unfortunately, but I've several albums which got played constantly.
