RIP Marianne Faithfull

Never heard of her, but it sucks to lose somebody that, although aren't known personally, but has in some way shaped us, or a part of us.

I was rather upset when I found out MF DOOM died. And for a while, I felt like those who I grew up with, were all dying off, these people that in their own way, helped forge my childhood. One of the most recent, if I recall was J. K. Simmons. There's some comfort in the passage of time, that who you're used to, is still out there doing their thing. And when they die, that's one less connection to the past.

Some folks might not care that much. It was here or elsewhere that I remember somebody saying the likes of; "forum members die, it happens." Just like celebrities, we might not truly know these people, or even seen them in person, unlike celebrities, we've spent years talking to these people. Like celebrities, there was some impact made by them. Sure... quite a few people have voiced Batman over the years, and currently Jenson Ackles is voicing him. But Kevin Conroy is the Batman, he made enough impact that Mark Hamil will probably retire his role as the joker over it.

Find Broken English (the album) on your favourite audio link, and you might understand. In particular, "Why D'ya Do It?"

She was a pretty little English girl until she wasn't, a good little actress until she wasn't. A fierce, angry, astonishing woman with the best cracked voice on the planet. I've seen her twice in performance, and got her on good nights. She was the best.

Very true, and sometimes not even that they passed, but you see the people still alive and just how old they are. It's like holy shit when did this happen? And if they're older, so are we.

Don't Stop Believing is played constantly, and sometimes I think that album is 45 years old and my aunt bought it for me when I was 12. Do the math, ugh.

I think the death that hit me the hardest was Stan Lee. The man was the OG of the medium that got me through seriously rough times as a child and to this day I'm still hardcore into comics (although nothing from the last 15 years of Marvel and DC just independents and chasing back issues) Its like you lose a piece of yourself when they pass.

RIP to Miss Faithful, talented, beautiful and gave zero fucks.

As an aside Mick Jagger has always been one ugly bastard.

This is where I "discovered" her. She was almost 20 years past her visual "prime" at that point, but that didn't matter to me, who had never seen her or listened to her before. I'm still unconvinced that she did anything better. The radio guys (on a weekly WUSB blues show) who introduced the song said it was a 'version from Mars'. It made me want to watch the fillum:

A live version. Jeez, I've been hanging out with too many Austrian peerage descendants lately. Is she not magnetic?:

In the early 60's when Jagger was less well known, his main claim to fame was that he had scoffed a Mars bar held firmly in place by Ms Faithful's Vag. Now that's an image for you!

By the 80s, it was the main thing she was known for, while the Stones' career continued. I didn't know she was a singer in her own right until years later.

Rest in Peace....
I think not...
She led a wild and interesting life...
Keep rocking Babe...
Go wildly into the dark still kicking and fighting...

Dance, sing, throw your arms in the air...

Scream loudly, "I'm here bitches. Let's get this party started."
