I read Nimoy's obit in the NYTimes the day after his passing. I knew he had written books, but was surprised to learn of his artistic and photographic pursuits during the past few decades. I was (and still am) a big fan of the original Star Trek series, and always felt that he defined Star Trek more than William Shatner. Even though he was always known to everyone as Mr Spock, he was an intelligent, compassionate man with multi-faceted interests and goals in life. RIP.
