I've just learned that one of the first folks to welcome me to lit passed away today. He had a way of making me feel special when we talked and there was a sweetness behind his sarcasm that I truly appreciated. Our friendship had ebbed to an acquaintance, but lots of people knew him... and in this place, where so many of us are entirely anonymous, we often don't know where old friends have gone. I wanted there to be a place where he could be remembered. So slip into the pool, grab a drink, and raise a toast to his memory...
