RIP Andy Griffith

I always thought of him as rather a one-note actor until I saw him as the bad guy in Murder In Coweta County.

That's a common impression for anyone acting mainly in TV shows. But you don't get a TV show with your name in the title unless you've got the chops.

Holy shit, I finally got one right in my dead pool.

RIP, Andy.

Andy Griffith could convincingly play any role across the spectrum. I did not like seeing him play the bad guy in that one, but was equally as good playing bad guy as he was playing the "aw-shucks" roles.

I loved everything I ever seen him in. If you want a really good laugh with one of the best movies Griffith ever starred in, then watch his 1958 "No Time for Sergeants". You will laugh your ass off from start to finish. :)

"A Face in the Crowd" was very good. To see him as an egotistical, loudmouth jerk was an eye opener.

On tap for this 4th of July: whistling a familiar, jaunty little tune. ;)

RIP, Andy!

That whistle was as iconic in my formative years as the Addams Family snaps. Sad day.

I was/is a huge fan. Loved the AG show.

No Time For Sergents was a classic.

RIP AG

How sad...

I was watching the end of an Andy Griffith episode while eating lunch.

:(:(:(

He was a good actor. :)

Always liked him except when I hated him in that one movie.

Coroner's report states Andy Griffith suffered a massive heart attack triggered by hypertension and chronic hyperliperdemia (total cholesterol over 600).

It's a wonder he lived to see the age of 86 with cholesterol levels that high.
