RIP Amicus

Sad news.
I remember Amicus with a level of fond amusement.
He certainly never left you wondering.

RIP.

:rose:

He was one of the first people I ever put on ignore. And I've been around here a long time.

He's still on ignore.

Not sorry that he passed (yeah I said it), but I hope his daughter wins her fight against the publisher. :rose:

Aaaaand here's a thread to help y'all remember him by:

http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1057779

What I recall most in that thread is Robdownsouth, a antisemitic racist pig who constantly accuses a poster of molesting his daughter and getting away with it because he licks Laurel's ass so much she never has to wipe it

And I doubt when your sorry ass goes you'll warrant a thread. And if someone posted one(as a parody no doubt) it would be met with...

Who?

My favorite Amicus thread was titled "The Feminine Mistake" (I think).

It escalated rather quickly into a discussion of cannibalism and marinades, and probably isn't as funny now as it was at the time.

I'm not even sure it could still be looked up, its that old.

I think you can only go back 200 posts now in someone's history. Not sure how far back in threads started.

Bad news for the rolls who like to go through searching years of someone's post to find something that fits their agenda.

I mainly remember Amicus (other than being the first poster I put on ignore here because of his Neanderthal political philosophies) as getting our shared publisher (and thus my books and every other author's books with that publisher) tossed out of Amazon temporarily until she dropped his books because of their content that also is banned at Literotica in a realm that eventually got Amicus banned from here too (https://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=261558) --but not before he used an avatar here for a while of his granddaughter sitting on his lap. (I hope that's explanatory enough without mentioning the actual issue that got him banned--from both Amazon and Literotica.)

So, miss him? Not a chance. Sorry he's dead? Yes, condolences to the daughter on that. I also wish the daughter luck in getting a marketplace publisher to take his books down. The content of his writing provides a double whammy at family that would reverberate down through the generations. But I don't finger the publisher for not doing so if return of rights conditions weren't specified in the contract to support such a family request. Marketplace publishers aren't free-use Web sites, and the finger is on the author on what they go into a publishing contract with, not the publisher. It all goes back to Amicus and what he was willing to put out in public.

(On a lighter note, it's great to see Starrkers post.)

How can you be sorry for someone you barely know? I don't buy the fake :rose: and RIP from anyone, let alone a fucking remembrance thread. I find it hilarious that you measure someone's worth with a RIP thread. That too on an online forum amongst a bunch of anonymous most of whom have never met each other.

He may have "helped" your ass but that doesn't make anyone buy his racist/misogynist/pedo agenda-philic posts.

And if you're too blind to see it.... well, god bless your eyes.

BTW, there's a difference between not feeling sorry and outright making fun of someone's death. You oughta see it.

I hope you're not too old to be looked up

Unless you consider initiating an RIP thread for someone banned from here for blatant, unrepentant reasons having started off on a new low to begin with.

Well until the last few posts many people appreciated it and had decent things to say.

But I'd except nothing less than a low blow parting shot to the deceased from you.

In fact I knew of his passing days before I started the thread. I mentioned it in a PM to TX Rad and said I'd start a thread for people to know, but figured it would devolve into a bunch of shots at a dead person.
'
He said, no, do it.

he looked right for the first couple days.

Thank you for making me right as I usually am about base human nature.

I can well understand why you admire him--on several levels. I don't think I posted anything that didn't represent what he actually did on this forum or in the marketplace. And I said it was too bad he has died. It also is too bad he left his family what he did. (You might give that a thought yourself. I know I consider it in my own walking the edge in writing).

And I think it best to leave a banned poster banned.

It's just too bad that, having opened up the topic, you can't make a rose garden out of it.

It's not about who is right or wrong. There will always be people with bad manners, always someone who is arrogant enough to believe he/she has something to say that is far more important than the loss of one of our members. It's what we must expect, and certainly no reason to even lower oneself to his or her level.

I shall miss his snarkiness. I shall always be grateful for the assistance he offered in my first years here and remember him fondly--even when his digs were directed at me. Amicus was an original. Few people can claim to be such, and therein lies the true sadness.

There are two groups of people in this thread. The ones who knew the Amicus of old and the ones who only knew the Amicus during his downward spiral. They were two very different people.

And yeah, there is nothing like a funeral to bring old friends together. It's good to see some of the long missing faces.

Rudeness should be a capital offence punishable by immediate death.

If it was, you would have been dead decades ago. (For that matter, so would Amicus--and I think he'd have been amused by that "achievement.") :D

No, my friend. Rudeness is not a crime, and it's only an annoyance when we allow the trolls to annoy us. If we rise above, the trolls have no choice but to move off to greener pastures--to other planes where they have a chance to reap the bittersweet harvest of cries of woe.

This thread isn't for such demeaning things. We cannot control the obnoxiousness of others. We can only control our own reactions.

Since Cloudy is here, I'll use her signature response: I should care what you think because?

You're a drone here. You've only posted one story in the last seven years and that was five years ago and you give absolutely zilch on the forum in either support or help to other authors. All you do is post occasionally on one thread about how your day went.

A lot of hypocrisy going on this thread.
