Ridiculous feedback

Okay so I shouldn’t be thin skinned about things. And yes I know that everyone wont like everything you write. But what irks me the most about the last feedback I received was… get this… I cursed in my story! (According to the feedback it’s an author being lazy)

Okay 1st- it was only in the dialogue and yes people curse in real life.
2nd- Okay let us remember it is an erotic story and people actually do fuck
3rd- if cursing isn’t your thing, why read erotic stories?

Guess I shouldn’t complain, and for all those other nice, friendly emails I’ve gotten… Thank you sincerely

I got some odd feedback myself, read the thread started by Kerrie O'Keefe about Pastorale. That one was just too much. Either someone has some serious issues or someone is just yankin my chain.

I've had people whine and bitch about things I've done in stories, one was about having the truck constantly running in the Alexandra one, don't 'member which. Apparently they don't have 18 wheelers in London and truck drivers, even in America, would never do such a thing. No, G, it wasn't you but one of your less articulate brethren.

I have, however, never had anything as bizarre as someone complaining about my cussing. Holy fuck, that's weird.

Odd Feedback

So far I've had only one 'out of left field' piece of feedback. One person (anonymous) asked if the character 'Rosa' from my story "Postcard from San Juan" is an illegal immigrant.

Apart from the obvious mental gaffe (Puerto Rico has been part of the U.S. since 1898 and its inhabitants are U.S. citizens by birth), one still is left with the puzzling question 'what possible difference would that make to the story?' Oh, well . . .

Trust me I do like constructive critisim. I know i have a lot to work on- i am surely not perfect (yet lol) but this one burned me...

I'm SHOCKED

...SHOCKED, I say! I've been away from the post office for a bit, but I'm shocked and dismayed to hear that someone, and you know who you are (is) (am), has (have) been using profane words in their stories. Shocked, I say! And yes...even dismayed! What is the world of erotica coming to, when gutter talk has to be used to cater to the pervs.
Curse words? I shudder to think where this might lead!

Perhaps we should follow the lead of the exiting Clinton staffers and pull the "f"'s from our keyboards. Drastic?
Not if it shields the eyes of the chosen ones.

Well, the person who wrote to you, RP, was obviously leading a sheltered life. Be happy that you rid him of his childishness, and especially at such a late age! I wouldn't worry about it too much, it was probably the same guy who went after KillerMuffin's story. Maybe he was just "making the rounds." If it makes you feel any better, I got hit, too, with some anonymous email accusing me of being left-winged (as if that was a BAD thing) and unable to tell what was in an assassin's mind. If he only knew....
