Secretary of HHS RFK Jr has asked Trump administration to yank CDC nominee Dave "Vaccines Cause Autism!" Weldon from consideration

Nomination pulled hours before Weldon was supposed to have testified before a Senate committee.

Weldon is a former Florida congressman turned anti-vaxx extremist. He is arguably one of the few anti-vaxxers more extreme than RFK Jr.
While in Congress, Weldon was one of the first nutjobs to promote the then-new theory that "All vaccines, including measles, are no longer 'safe' because Big Pharma CHANGED TEH ADDITIVES'.

This has since become an 'article of faith' among anti-vaxx extremists.

Republican Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, the only medical doctor on the Senate Committee was extremely critical of Weldon's nomination (but it should be noticed Cassidy aslo tore apart RFK Jr during RFK's nomination, and after Cassidy got his sound bites on Fox, promptly voted to confirm him).

RFK Jr wants to be the only extreme anti-vaxx guy at HHS?

ā€œThis department isn’t big enough for the two of us!ā€
Once DOGE saves the government billions and billions of tax dollars, perhaps they will open up the new Donald J. Trump Memorial Antivaxx Hall of Fame. With Weldon being tagged by RFK Jr as "too radical", that should be enough to ensure Weldon is enshrined in the inaugural class of inductees.

One plane flight with one carrier of the measles to your state will be a problem.
UNLESS............. your state actually has taken the vaccine.
BUT............ was the vaccine any good before 1968?
I'm checking for myself. You should too!

I checked an FAQ yesterday. If you were vaccinated BEFORE October 1989 you got the "first gen" vaccine which is something like 50% effective. If you got vaccinated AFTER October 1989 you got the latest and greatest MMR vaccine which is something like 98% effective (RFK jr says that's the one that makes you autistic and/or sterile and/or makes you grow hair on your chest (women only) and/or keeps you from growing hair on your chest (men only) )

Rob did you say something about having shingles or a shingles vax?

Theres some kind of link between shingles and measels, right?

Rotadwarf and Deluks666 both had weasels, but that’s genetic. Same ā€œmomā€.
I had the shingles vaccine. Two doses, the "warmup" dose to put your body on alert that something is coming in the way of really bad viral antibodies. Then the "blockbuster' dose which will hurt like absolute hell for 24 hours.

Shingles is an offshoot of the chickenpox virus, not measles.

Thanks for quoting the comically short person. I see he's still living "rent free in my head." šŸ™„ Excellent smackdown by you with facts right upside his empty melon.

Poor comically short person. You got embarrassed and were forced to delete yet another post 😘

You lame, obsessed, fucking ignorant donkey.

I got everything in both arms courtesy of the US Army.

The bolded text above is in error. Then-congessman Weldon was not "one of the first nutjobs", he was the FIRST, and for a long time the ONLY rightwing nutjob to bang the "Vaccines Cause Autism" drum within the United States. From this point forward, low-intelligence MAGA whackadoodles have been anti-vaxx as an article of faith.

Quick Timeline:
  • Scientist Andew Wakefield spends a decade attempting to prove the original measles vaccine "causes' Irritable Bowel Syndrome/Crohn's Disease. He fails every time.
  • The new second generation MMR vaccine is introduced in Great Britain.
  • A shady group of British lawyers draw up a plan to sue the British National Health Service for distributing an 'unsafe vaccine".
  • Wakefield is paid 150,000 pounds to produce a published scholarly research article "proving" vaccines cause autistism and chronic diarrhea.
  • The lawyers cabal scours Britain for autistic children who were diagnosed after receiving the MMR vaccine, promising parents a big payday. Hundreds of families with autistic children reply.
  • Wakefield uses this biased sample to "prove" his research. It gets published in the prestigious Lancet.
  • Congressman Dave Weldon, who is a doctor, begins to continually publicize the "dangers" of measles vaccinations.
  • Vaccination rates plummet in Great Britain
  • 30+ scientists attempt to recreate Wakefield's research. None of them are able to duplicate Wakefield's results.
  • The Lancet retracts the article about Wakefield's research.
Now, Orange Julius Caesar is not the smartest person in the room, but give Mango Mussolini credit, he can "read the room". Putting an 'anti-measles vaccine" guy in charge of the CDC when measles cases for the first 50 days of his administration when the total surpassed ALL cases of measles in the last 12 months of the Biden administration was something even Carrot Caligula knew was a non-starter.
