Rewiring the brain through orgasms

I read a recent article in the NY Post concerning a study done on how orgasms are thought to rewire the brain and increase the bond between sexual partners.

Several ideas for stories immediately popped into my head. What about you?

A mystical/magical take on this is featured in a draft fantasy story I'm working on. Specifically, shared orgasms between magic-users can heighten their attachment and make their magic more powerful if used in conjunction. So taking the idea of increased emotional connection to the next level and making it actual supernatural bonding force.

A lot of my writing is based around this idea: She binds him to her by rewarding his "good" behavior with mind-blowing orgasms that he is unlikely to get from anyone else. This requires core exercises on her part, of course. These are often female-led relationships.

Isn't the article a bit, "No shit. Sherlock" though? People getting paid for researching the obvious?

I mean, we've known that about gerbils for decades. Mebbe I just got to find me a new mouse. Do the cordless ones make a difference?

Seriously though, the answer is yes, one can condition a partner for arousal, and have a Pavlovian response of your own. I'm a little surprised this gets written up in the paper, to be honest, but that's a guy in a white coat for you!

I've always found the rush of blood to the brain at orgasm gets the little gray cells working in wonderous ways. I only experienced glossolalia ("speaking in tongues") once, and that was orgasm-induced. That was only one of many delightful effects of sex I've had.

Yeah, it's all pretty obvious.

BUT: I've personally noticed something, which I've asked other people about, and it may just be peculiar to me: For a minute or so after an orgasm, my sense of smell is significantly enhanced. I figure that's an adaptation, related to pheromone-based pair bonding.

This is a good place to ask: Has anyone else experienced that?

Nope. Is this condition pre or post Covid?

I find my proclivity for being highly ticklish disappears after an orgasm.

The fact that the voles were selected on the basis of their monogamy casts doubt on whether the same effect can be found in species that aren't monogamous... like us.

I've always felt, especially if I get dressed and go out after sex, with or without shower, that I'm hyperaware of her 'smell on me' for at least half-an-hour of so. Not just in a mucky, sweaty way, but in a 'damn that was good' way. I've also assumed its a pheromone thing.

I can imagine there are some stories out there where positive reinforcement of this sexual manner is used to 'train' a human by rewiring their thoughts and cognitive schemas. No doubt they already exist, just not in my usual genres!
