a simple poll before I revamp some of my old threads

please post a response and let me know what you think beyond the options I give.

I think its a good idea, especially if the thread showed response but ended by other reason (people lost interest, some players stipped posting or left the thread, etc.)

Ive seen a lot of interesting threads die after just a couple of pages and a lot of them were good ideas. So I say, bring those old threads back, maybe new people will find interest in them... maybe not... either way I think its a good idea.

Sure, why not. I do it all the time.

You've been here for a long time, Intriguess. I would be interested in reading some of your earlier works.

I think you can, simply do a search for all posts by user (i think it's under the members link or the profile link at the bottom) and considering how many threads I've been involved with (I just recently cleared out my subscribed threads page to just one page) it might take some doing. I suggest my "testing the water" series of threads. they were/are quite interesting.

This is freaky. I wrote a short start to the testing the waters thread the other day, while at a business seminar of all places.

I wondered if you would like to see it?

I can think of a dozen threads that didn't finish their plot that I would LOVE a chance to finish.

I think that starting up a new thread could be a good idea only if it never was overdone or had a really untimely death to it.

I know that I have wanted to start up a few of the old thread I had worked on in the past but things seemed too soon and redundant.

Maybe it would also open up a few places instead of all these coled threads. It's hard to find much new stuff to get involved with lately.

cool idea!

I remember some really great threads that I'm sure new players would love to join, myself included even though I'm not so new here and I have fond memories of threads that I go back to and read sometimes and would like to play in again, with some new people and new ideas. Or with the oldtimers too, lol

prometheus 2 aka Afternooner.

Why Merelan are you holding out on me? I would love to see it.

Which brings a new question what threads would you like to see revived?

I agree...it's worth reviving old threads. Most die before they're dead in my opinion.

As the thread starter you will know if a thread has passed it's viability if it has. I believe that few have, and that most die because RL intrudes on participants being able to keep them going.

another related question

why is it that when a thread goes to page two, its chance of death triples? It seems unfair that page two seems to be a graveyard of good threads......is it just that no one subscribes to threads? that they don't know how to use their user control panell? or that they don't know that pages beyond page 1 exist?

I've often wondered that myself I think a lot of people don't subscribe until they really get involved. They just jump in and out of threads like they jump in and out of bed. lol it may have something to do with our throw away attitude society. easy come easy go- grass is greener ect if it takes too much thinking why bother. btw do you know the difference between ignorance and apathy.

I don't know and I don't care.

RL or apathy, or maybe they don't like the way the story is moving, or something bothers them... Good communication between the players is always a help, whether through OOC threads or PMs. Although that's no guarantee that a good story will fade before its time.

Intriguess, any particular favorites of yours that you'd like to see revived?

I loved gypsy camp and tried to respin it but it died quickly, and a lot of threads I'd like to try again. Sometimes its easier to revamp as one time i reposted the opener and had the same person who killed the original thread kill the second one, i've had people pm to post and people just post and often i'm tired of starting a thread and getting the idea twisted around to where I don't want to continue.

I think I've prattled enough

*wink*

so here's a question I find that I start a lot of threads, and I like to play with different people, but it seems I've played with pretty much everyone...where are all the hot newbies? or do they never get a chance to jump in?

I would love to re-live one or two of our old threads...it has been a while but remember just how amazing you are.

it's funny i recall playing with you too but can't recall the thread....*smile* perhaps we should wrack our brains and come up with something new.....after all we joined lit at the same time though our status is far different

Im up for it.....

FYI: "The Long and the Short of it".....old school thread :)

wasn't that about a baseball player?

(i've started many threads and recently cut my subscribed list to one page a lot of which are old threads I inted to try again, and of course the testing the water one...that was my very first try at a thread)
