Revision of a Posted Story

How do I go about taking down a posted story?

I want to revise a couple of mine (more than a couple need it but... ), and am uncertain how to take them down.

Repost with "delete" behind the title and a note in the Notes box on what you are trying to do with it. And then wait for the same time it would take for a new story to post.

Rather than remove it then resubmit what you can do is write The new version and submit it as an edit

This way you can keep original votes and comments

Well if he is looking to duck some bad feedback he should change the name when he reposts

But then people who read the original might think something funny is going on

When I go to the "Submissions" page, I cannot access the content of the story itself.

Just submit the story again--using the same title as you did originally--and put DELETE on the end of it. And in the notes box explain what you want to do. Don't try to do anything with what's already on your submissions page.

If you want to retain the comments, views, and votes as Lovecraft68 assumes, put EDITED at the end of the title rather than DELETE and submit the content as you now want it. Again, it would be good to note in the Notes box what you are trying to do.

There are FAQs on this on the Web site (if you know how to find them). This is what they say about editing an already-posted story:

No problem! Simply submit the new version as you submitted the old one, only adding the word "EDITED" to the title (ex. "My Sexy Firefighter Ch. 03 - EDITED") so that we know to replace the old text with the new text. We will then replace the original text with the new text. Your story will retain its previous voting score and views.

If your intention is to delete the current store. Type in the title you wish to delete followed by the word DELETE. Only do this if you intention is to take it down and not do an edit as you lose any votes and/or comments.

If you intention is to just replace the story that is there. Do the complete submission. Title(make sure it is exactly the same), Description(should be the same at the original) Story Text(not the same, place the edited text here(if you are just pasting text)) (If you are submitting a word doc, attach the new, edited , word doc to the submission). Make sure you follow the title by the word EDIT.

You may also want to place a note in the authors note section letting Laurel know that this is an edit.
