Name: David
Age: 24
Height: 6"0
Looks: short brown smart hair, blue eyes, stubble, average build to slightly athletic. Wearing a smart grey suit, white shirt without a tie

It had been 4 years since David had seen Jane. They had bumped into each other at a coffee shop in town and had agreed to catch up over a drink, and David had made sure it happened. So here he was sitting in the bar watching Jane try and catch the barmans eye. They had history and had dated briefly when they were younger but nothing serious. They lost contact when they both left for uni but were enjoying catching up. When they were younger David had always had butterflies and been a bit nervous around Jane but tonight he felt in control. Jane made her way through the crowd with the drinks. She placed them down on the table.

"So what did you get me?" enquired David...

Jane flashed a guilty smile.

"I asked the bartender to look over at you and tell me what would want." Jane's smile grew into a devious curl.

"Scotch. On the rocks. Single malt." She paused to savor the moment. "How did he do?"

Jane's mind drifted back to their time together. It had been a little awkward before, and she never understood why things didn't click. She was secretly glad the bartender had recommended a stiff drink.

"Are there any big changes in your life?"

David took a moment to savor the drink, a very good choice.

He smiled over the top of his drink admiring the view before him, perhaps for a moment to long. He placed his glass down on the table.

"Quite a big change actually, started a new job recently" He couldn't hide the pride from his face.

"What is it you do now? I remember you wanted to be a dancer when we were at school?"

David's eyes flashed as he remembered watching her practice at school, looking in from outside the room. She certainly still had her dancers physique...

Jane was lithe and muscular from dancing, and she liked that about herself. And she remember the way David looked at her, how much he admired her beauty. She remembered enjoying that very much.

"You know, some of the dancers got together and these marathon discussions about our careers and the future and all. Some of us broke away and made a commitment to stay local and to do things our way. So we all took other jobs, but we started our own company and do shows on our own terms. I'm actually in nursing school part time and also work at a coffee shop. Pretty low key but very busy."

"I remember you were talking about buying a house. Did you do that?"

David remembered how he used to go on about owning a house, at one time it had been his main goal in life. He had of course grown up and become more realistic.

"I did actually, well I now own a flat. Its just round the corner, part of the new block on Balmoral Rd, some of them are actually still being finished off. Thats why i suggested here because its my local"

He was pleased that the conversation was flowing more freely now. He was still in awe of her physique but no longer intimated by it. He took a quick sip of his drink to give him some thinking time. He desperately wanted to ask if Gary was still on the scene but he couldn't think of a way to ask without seeming so obvious, anyway that was years ago he was sure she would have moved on by now.

She crossed her legs and David caught a glimpse of her elegant legs, he was going to ask about her living situation before he noticed a neat little tattoo resting on her left calf.

"Is that a tattoo i see?" he blurted out. Her eyes widened and she looked down to where he was gazing.

"Jane with a tattoo, i could never of imagined that, mind if i take a look?"

Jane smiled at his immodesty. It didn't bother her at all, maybe because she was a dancer, maybe because she was enjoying David's interest in her. She raised and opened her leg slightly to give him a better look.

"Yea, it's a rose. All the girls in the company got them when we went indie. Sort of a pact of solidarity, I guess."

Jane wondered if David had a romantic attachment and tried to think of a safe way to bring up the subject.

"I'm still in the apartment on Harvey. Small, I know, but for now I'm trying to keep expenses down. There was a guy...I don't know if you remember...we had talked about moving in together but it just got too complicated."

She wasn't going to say more, but added, almost unintentionally, "Nothing serious since then." She looked up and smiled. "I try to keep things simple."

David leaned forward and ran his finger down the side of the tattoo, admiring. He stopped and held his finger there for just that bit to long, he didn't mind though he wasn't going to hide his intentions. He was also amazed at how electric it felt to touch her smooth skin. She gave a little nervous smile.

He sat back up
"me neither. For some reason at school i was always so desperate to get into a relationship, ive chilled out now. I have plenty of time in the future, for now its just simplicity all the way"

Jane was looking at him with a certain intensity now. She hadn't asked him, but he was always going to tell her.

He took his eyes of her for a second to take another sip of his drink and realised he was empty.

"Time for a refill i think, unless you don't have time?"

"No, it's fine. I'll have another, too."

Jane watched closely as he touched her leg. She didn't mind, of course; indeed, it was much more his exposure than hers. She saw that he was confident but not overeager, and she knew she could trust him. When he drew back she gave him an admiring glance.

Jane took the last sip of wine before the waiter broght another glass.

"So what's a perfect simple evening for you these days?"

" A simple evening? ... hmm well good company, a nice bar and a few bottles of wine, that sounds like a good evening to me" The comparisons to the moment was almost embarrassingly obvious, and he let the phrase hang there for a moment, leaving it open ended.

"How about you, how do you enjoy yourself?"

He perched on the edge of the chair and slipped his suit jacket off, he was starting to get a bit to warm, the bar was starting to get busy now.

He leaned back in his chair, adopting a very open stance, he was beginning to feel very comfortable in her presence.

"Hmmm... A lot of my evenings I'm working or studying. But the ones I really cherish I guess I'm relaxin with my girlfriends. At home, drinking wine, or out dancing, or whatever."

Her mind wandered briefly, thinking of being home alone. "I guess at the moment I don't enjoy being home alone that much, so I usually find some way to be with people. But I can see the day when that might change, I don't know for sure."

Absorbed in her thoughts, Jane didn't notice him take off his jacket. But somehow she mirrored his mood, leaning back a bit and drawing a leg up onto the chair and opening her thigh. It wasn't anything provocative, but just an unconscious feeling of openness.

Suddenly she realized she had just stopped talking. She looked at David and smiled to fill the space.

"What was it you used to do for exercise?" Jane noticed he was fit and muscular, but couldn't remember how.

"Ha you don't remember? Triathalons of course, remember i was always trying to get you to do one. You still look in fantastic shape if you ever wanted to do it? ive toned my training down a bit now, trying to build up more muscle so that means more time in the gym"

For the first time David noticed the gym was working and he felt proud of his body. He also noticed he Jane shift in her chair, he could now see her inner thigh. He didn't care if Jane could see him looking because his heart had now begun to beat faster.

"Well now we know were living in the same town, perhaps you wont have to spend many evenings alone."

He looked at Jane trying to gauge her reaction. Perhaps the drink had made him be to bold, but he had quiet self confidence. Anyway Jane's beauty was very intoxicating and she had always been his type.

A guilty smile came over Jane's face.

"You're right, I totally screwed up that memory. It was something that impressed me very much, and still does." She looked at him, wishing she could see more of his muscular frame. "Your training regimen must be brutal."

Jane let his suggestion to spend time together rattle around in her head. She cocked her head and added, with a shy tone,"Yea, I can see how that would be a good thing."

Her eyes lingered, locking onto his. Her smile broadened. She took a deep breath, and looked around, figeting with her wine glass. Then there was too long a silence,.

"Yea, maybe we could go on a run together sometime. But you know I've got a whole different regimen,"

David loved it when she smiled, and the way she played with her wine glass, playing havoc with his imagination. He wasn't sure she even knew how beautiful she was, and how she exuded a quiet self confidence.

He was remembering the one time he had managed to get her to come on a run with him. He had spent most the time running behind her, telling her that she could set the pace. He had admired her the whole run, that would be fun to do again.

"Well if you come for a run with me then i promise to give an hour of my time to be taught the art of dancing by your good self. Remember how your were always trying to get me to dance! I was and still and an awful dancer im afraid"

"Do you had any plans for the rest of the night by the way?"

He asked it rather nonchalantly, but deep down he hoped she would say no, he didn't want this night to end just yet.

Jane hadn't intended to stay this long, but in all honesty didn't have any place she needed to be. She took a sip of wine, and thought of how smooth and effortless it was being with David. She took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. She felt her shoulders relax and her defenses and inhibitions release.

"No," she smiled, "Did you have something in mind?"

She wasn't sure what to wish for, and really felt like following his lead. She remembered his interest in dancing, but he probably didn't mean the modern choreographed pieces she did. She knew a few of the old social dances, and she thought about her warmup routine that she'd adapted from yoga. But mostly she was enjoying the mellow, slowed-down pace of their conversation. When she thought of the evening with him, that's what she imagined.

He looked at her, wanting to shout out just exactly what he had in mind, what he was desperate for. He was thankful that his exterior kept calm. During the conversation his attitude and demeanor had changed completely, he had decided to convince himself that this was now a date. The switch flicked in his head and he was now out to impress. He had so many ideas, but he was trying to judge Jane's emotions, what was she wanting?

His stomach suddenly spoke up and he remembered he hadn't eaten. A restaurant? far to easy.

"Well i've not eaten have you?" She nodded that she hadn't, her eyes never left him.

"As i said i live just round the corner and im a very good cook, so how about we go to mine for a bite to eat"

His head was rushing now, what did he have in the flat, was it tidy? At least he knew he was a good cook.

He hoped he hadn't overstepped the remark and it felt like hours before she replied.

"Yea, ...yea, that would be nice." Her face went to a dreamy look. "Especially if I can sit in the kitchen and watch."

Jane paused, flashing a devious smile.

"Sipping on a glass of wine, of course."

Her smile broadened, and she locked eyes with him momentarily, then broke into a giggle.

"Or you could put me to work." That seemed a little prosaic, so she added, with a flirtish tone. "I'll just follow instructions."

Secretly, Jane was delighted. She had gotten into such a mellow state that really hadn't wanted to "do" anything. He had read her mood perfectly.

Inside he gave a huge sigh or relief. It was soon interrupted however by the flirtatiousness of her reply. Following instructions, that set his mind racing, he loved being in control, for now however he would have to bring his imagination back to earth, this was only cooking!

"Yeh why not, you should earn your keep, im sure i can put you to work in the kitchen"

He smiled at her, he wondered if he would be able to keep focused on cooking. He noticed her drink was finished so he drained the last of his.

"Shall we" He motioned with his arm as he stood up, already putting his jacket on.

He stood behind her ready to pull her chair back.

Jane looked up with an affirmative smile and he put on his jacket. She lingered, being playfully delicate, and he came and tended to her chair.

"Thank you," she said, almost giggling. Jane wasn't accustomed to such decorum, but the events of the evening had put her in a state of compliance. She almost feared she'd courted trouble with her commen about following instructions. He'd definitely noticed, and took it for the full extent of its meaning, and more.

For a moment Jane entertained herself by watching David walk, imagining the magnificient physique he'd created through all his endurance training. She viewed her own body, of course, as a work of art, and was enjoying selfish pleasure in being with someone whose body mattered as much as hers.

Then she realized she needed to extract herself from this distraction.

"Do you run downtown? I mean, it's so congested here. Is there a good downtown route?"

He almost didn't realize what she had asked. For a moment he was delighting in the situation, he was taking Jane back to his house. His brain stopped for a moment, the food? In his head he was taking Jane back to his flat, but he had to remain a gentleman, no presumptions made. Anyway he had a killer dish he could cook.

"No i dont run around here, as you say its far to crowded. Theres a park a mile away i often go to, if not i drive up into the hills. The air is freshers and there is much more space. Know one around to bother you either."

They turned to corner and David put his hand in his pocket picking out his keys, the under construction development towering above them. He typed in the code and opened the door for Jane to walk through.

Jane's question about running seemed to puncture the mellowness that they'd been enjoying, and she felt a little bad about that. She was thinking about that as they entered the building.

Then the elevator doors closed and they were suddenly ensconsed in silence. She leaned against David, much the way a cat might, brushing her cheek against his shoulder. Then she gazed up at him, engaging him with a deep smile.

"What a great idea you've come up with. I think this is going to be a lot of fun."

James was starlted as she leant into him. Her beautiful big eyes were looking up at him and the contact sent shockwaves through his body. He put his hand to her face and stroked her hair back behind her ears. He titlted his head and kissed her on the forehead, letting it linger. It was far to affectionate and he didnt know why he had done it but it felt natural. He gazed away from her and knew that he was in for a passionate and romantic.

She had managed it years ago and she was doing it again, she had a way of getting into his head. Instead of taking her as they entered his flat, he wanted to cook for her, to show off, to tease her before offering her everything she wanted. He could feel her warm breath on him on his shoulder, right now she was everything he wanted.

The elevator came to a stop on the 13th floor and he waited for her to step out.

Jane felt his kiss and smiled. Then suddenly she felt silly, as if she'd been very aggressive. She drew back with a guilty smile.

"I guess that was a little impulsive." She knew he hadn't minded, but still, she felt she may have betrayed a kind of neediness that she didn't like in herself. Probably not, but still...

"I can't wait to see your place. I have this image in my mind. It's going to be really light and modern. And clean. I predict that you're a very good housekeeper."

She lived in an older place where, no matter what you did to it, it was dark and cluttered. Maybe all the woodwork and such.

But still. But still, she hadn't forgotten his tender kiss and the way she felt leaning into him. It was nice, that feeling of their bodies together.

He led his way down the corridor to his flat, number 16.

"Your not far wrong. Im afraid its a bit of a bachelor pad. I bought it before it was finished so was able to get a few extras put it. Im alright at housekeeping, but my actual housekeeper is alot better"

He smiled at her. Then felt immediately stupid, perhaps admitting that you paid for someone to clean your house, probably wasn't the best idea. Anyway he quickly pulled his thoughts together.

"I actually only moved in here a month ago but all the boxes are gone, hopefully. No neighbours yet though so a bit lonely."

They arrived at his flat and he put the keys in the lock. He pushed the door and let Jane go first. Her watched as she moved down the two steps into the open plan living area.

"Wow, it's huge!" She scurried ahead, lifting her arms and turning in circles in the spacious room. Then she realized she'd left David standing at the door.

"Ooops. Guess I got a little excited," she shot him another guilty smile. "My place is all small rooms and darkness. It would totally change my personality to live here."

Jane looked carefully at David to see if he was enjoying this. When she determined he was, she slipped off her shoes. Then she lifted her arms and drew in a deep breath, as if inhaling the spaciousness around her. Then she did a few more turns, as if it were her duty as a dancer to consecrate every open space.

Then, feeling almost manic confidence from the performance, she scurried back to David, sliding smoothly into that cat-like embrace, putting her arm around him and rubbing her face on his shoulder. She smiled up at him.

"Wanna come show me what you can see from the window?"

David stood at the top as Jane explored the main living space. He loved seeing her dance around the large space. She took her shoes off, he loved how comfortable she was. She slid about, danced about on the laminate wooden flooring. He loved watching her toned legs as she danced, he felt like a kid again spying on her. He had always fantasied of her dancing for him. He was glad she so obviously liked the flat, he was very proud of it and had worked extremely hard to get it.

She came bouncing back to him nestling herself in him again. He loved the way she looked up at him, her beautiful eyes burrowing deep inside of him. The lustfulness in her eyes made him feel manly.

She grabbed him by the hand and took him to the large glass window the filled most of the back wall, next to it a small door opening up onto a roof garden, such space was a premium in this city.

"Shall we" he said guiding Jane outside. The view looked out onto the lake that almost divided the city in two. The wind was cool and fresh and he enjoyed it against his face. Jane was the first person he had shared it with, and he liked that.

She was still exploring this small area looking at the view in different directions.

"So what do you think?"
