I placed an order for some tobacco from a fairly reputable place online. This one time, I went away from my usual store, and decided to try the new place beause the new place was a bit less expensive, and I'm trying to be as frugal as I can.

Now, this order was placed on the 8th of February.

So I waited all through Valentine's Day, then after. We had this huge snowstorm, so I figured I'c cut them a break. Mail service was sporadic to nonexistent. No biggie. Except that by Sunday, I"m down to no tobacco, and I had truly thought that they would have had it delivered by now. I checked my order through their Web site and it was AOK. No problems.

Tuesday and Wednesday - nothing. Yesterday - nothing. By now, I've bought a couple packs of regular cigarettes (which taste like feces!!) to tide me over. I didn't want to, but it was cheper than buying more tobacco from my local shop. And besids, I had better stuff coming, right?

Today - nothing again. I called the shop and asked them to check the status of my order. Apparently, all four items I ordered were on backorder and two of them were there indefinitely! I asked them why they couldn't have either e-mailed or called me since they had both numbers to contact me, and my e-mail address. they didn't have any kind of answer. So I cancelled my order and told them that they wouldn't have to worry about filling any orders form me in the future.

I mean, it wasn't as if I was actuallytrying to give them my money, right?

So I placed an order with my old standby. They may be a couple bucks more expensive, but at least they come through every time.

And I had to buy the cheap stuff from the local store, too. :(

It's just easier to undercut the competition when you're not actually selling anything.

ciggarette?, Cigar? Or pipe tobacco?

Cigarette.

I had been smoking a blend of regular tobacco and a mild brand with a light cherry flavor. It smelt like cherry pipe smoke and was quite nice. They stopped making the cherry stuff so I'm out of that until I find another company that makes it.

So I'm trying a mild Dutch blend which I understand has a slight woodsy smell and is very mild.

GG - I just can't smoke the store-made stuff anymore. Rolling my own has just spoiled me. :)

Harb - Well, that's one way of being the price leader!
