Resumé

"Resume"

Razors pain you;
The river is damp.
Acids stain you,
And drugs cause cramp.

Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas tastes awful -
You might as well live.

I've recently done some work experience with a magazine and i'm in the process of adding this into my resume because I think it's a valuable asset. I've put four or five bullet points in to emphasise exactly what I did during the week I was there and how it was useful, but do you think there'd be anything else I could add that I'd potentially miss? So far i've included that I wrote for the magazine, saw the production process, worked with graphic design software, worked with part of an efficient team.. anything else?

You might mention that you worked with an editor or under editorial supervision. I would guess they did read, give feedback and let (or asked) for a few minor changes.

You're such a helpful bunch in the AH.

Oh, very well. I am sorry not to be more helpful. But I haven't got the information I would need to do that. The only thing that could be added to your resume would be other things you did at work but didn't mention in your post. How could I know what they might be? :confused:

Well, if anyone around here had some similar experience. I thought that, on a writer's forum, working in a magazine or newsroom environment wouldn't be totally foreign to some people.

Ahh good call, I hadn't put this in. Thanks!

Being rude is the last way to get help. Yes, we are writers, and yes, we could help you. You need to look at when this was posted, how many people are on, and realize that this is a message board, not a chat room. sometiems results take hours, not minutes.

As for me, you make all your observations sound blasse'. Use energetic verbiage. words are your key tool in any resume type situation. Make your interviewer or the reviewer of your resume see your experience as something taken to heart. "worked with an editor doesn't sound as good as Maintained contact and interacted with the editorial staff of **** to assist in the creating of ***. See what I mean?
