A firm yes. Shame on the Litster who complained about these two excellent threads.

Don't think I know the threads in question, but in solidarity it is a hell yes from me :)

FREEEEDDOOOMMMMMM!!!!!

Damn right.

Sorry watching Braveheart. Seems to be an accurate historical record of Scottish history from Australia.

someone is looking for links to porn vids (with two threads, 'cause one obviously wisnae enough) and Liz got her thread deleted.

Go figure!

Absolutely!! If anyone made posts on her thread that were against the rules, please Mods just delete those posts and give us Liz back!

Stupid looks are free

While I agree with the sentiment, the sad fact is mods aren't paid, and will likely use the easiest resolution to an issue. Them needing to scroll through many pages (and since Ask Dr. Liz was popular, there were lots) and pick over which posts to remove, is unlikely.

Instead of whinging about what's been done, why hasn't anybody started a NEW thread? LizVegas already said she wouldn't mind if someone did, and if I was her, THAT beyond all else would make me feel warm and wanted.

Goodness! I stumbled upon this thread and the link in the OP. I never saw the threads, BUT DAMN, now I want to. They sound like fun!

that brings up another point. You seem to have a lot of insight about the boards and how they work. Is there a reason why the thread originator could not be made the moderator of their own thread so that they could police it themselves and delete posts that do not follow the rules?

I've been here for a while. I listen and watch. I ask questions, when something doesn't seem fair, to those who make the rules. So, yeah, that's my "insight." While the OP of a thread is the one who starts a threads rules, they aren't technically a moderator. There is a area/section/whatever for tech support to post questions and suggestions, but the idea of giving the thread OP "power" over their thread is not a new one. Even if Manu or Laurel thought it was a good idea, I don't know if it is technically possible.

Simple answer: The forum "software" has to be written to allow those sort of changes, or it simply isn't possible.

Some forum software allows thread originators to moderate their own threads, some doesn't. It would have to be enabled at the Admin's discretion if it was available.

Somehow, I don't think calling out mods with a specific thread questioning a decision has anything more than a .000001 percent chance of success. While I agree with the sentiment, this is no more than another venting outlet
