Rest in Peace, Jameslewis

RIP James

You were a true friend in a time of need...always there with a kind word...always willing to offer a shoulder to lean on...You are a true gentleman and one of the good ones here. :rose:

Anytime I see your Ducks play...I will think of one of their biggest fans.

You will be missed. :(

Thank you Papadoc.

He did love the Ducks.

He was the definition of a clas individual. I never saw a mean-spirited post by him, and each post I saw was either fun, thought-provoking, or engaging.

I will miss him...

He truly was a peacemaker here on the playground. He never had a mean word to say about anybody, was kind to men and women and liked by everyone. I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend:rose:

Yes he was. He was so kind and gentle. A friend to everyone on here. He was one of the good guys and he will be missed.

Thank you. Everyone is going to miss him on here. He touched so many lives.

Awww. I’m so sorry. I didn’t really talk to him but posted on a lot of the same threads. My take on him was a class guy that went on some adventures that could only make you jealous of never doing those things yourself. He will be truly missed. My condolences.

He gave out the aura of a Richard Ford: grounded, living on his terms

Yes, he was a very outdoorsy guy. He loved to explore Eastern Oregon.

Thank you so much. I know he is sitting back with his fishing pole and drinking a beer.

Thank you every one for your kind words and heartfelt messages in my inbox. I felt it only proper to respond to each and every one of them.

We were all blessed to have JamesLewis in our lives, whether it be for a day, a month or years.

He will forever live on in our hearts.

I started this thread because I only thought that he needed a proper farewell. I was closer to him than most of you know. I knew of his health issues, he may or may not have spoken about them to anyone else but he just felt like he had nothing left to give here. He was slowly getting back to his normal self, but he decided to spend that time doing what he loved best, fishing and camping.

I shared a picture of the happy JamesLewis, the smiling face behind the computer screen. I took that picture on his birthday a couple of years ago before he had his health setback. I will leave it up there for anyone to see.

He enjoyed this place, made a lot of friends on here and we are all lucky to be a part of his life.

Rest in peace, my dear, wonderful friend.

Thank you GEV for starting this threat and tbank you Starry for letting me know of his loss. He was one of the greats here on Lit and in life.

Oh man, that sucks.

Go well James, you'll be greatly missed by many here on boards and elsewhere.

This is a shock! Really enjoyed James....always positive and something nice to say.

RIP my friend.....:rose:

I did not know him very well, but we shared a like of John Prine music, which is where his name on here came from. He was a great guy, and made me smile.

He was one of the best here. He will be missed. :rose:

Hearing this hurts. Thank you so much, Gev, for letting us know.
I liked James, he was kind and funny. We shared stories about raising sons a time or two. RIP James, you are missed.
