It saddens my heart to inform you that I just saw on the Facebook page where Jameslewis was employed, posted five hours ago, that my beloved friend, the most caring, most gentle man I ever knew, passed away over the winter break.

He never spoke a harsh word to anyone. He was admired by both the men and women on here.

May you rest in peace, go fishing in that big blue sea above.

I loved you with all my heart, jameslewis.

I just happened to read this and am very sorry for the loss of your friend.

That sucks, time fleets from us all as we await our end of days. Sorry about your friend.

Find comfort in knowing that we will all be reunited as one in the grand scheme of things.

The life of a heart is not measured by how much you love, by how much you are loved by others, and in so doing a kind of peace and immortality is found. As friends and loved ones carry your heart with them throughout their lives.

be at peace all those who mourn

Oh, my word! He was such a gentleman and a gentle man. That was a joke between us. He always made me smile with his posts and messages.

He was so gentle. We had a special place in each other's hearts. We shared things on line and in person. I knew he was not well but I didn't know just how bad it was.

At least he got to see his son graduate college. I know he was so proud of him. He was a great father.

I am truly sorry for the loss of him. Thank you GEV for your honesty and sincerity in sharing this post.

I didn't know him personally, but I have seen an avatar or two he helped with. May God be with his family.

So sorry to hear of James' passing. This is such a shock, I thought he was a very fit and active person. May he rest in peace.

Shocked and saddended. I always thought of him as the best of us. So sorry for all who knew him well.

Wait. What??

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I can't believe it. {{{{{GEV}}}}}

I couldn't either, but it's true. 😭😭😭💔💔💔

He encouraged me to take that final step and publish my book.

I know.

He let me talk both his ears off when my little one was in the hospital and I was a hot mess.

His dog... his son... his future... all of the people he touched... this sucks so bad. 💙💙

Yes it does. He was more than a friend to me.

He was so proud of his son, in everything that he did. He constantly talked about him. His dog, he rescued her, she had a broken leg when he got her. She is such a sweet dog, loves her toys and to lay at his feet.

Greeneyed, Honey, I appreciate your deep loss. Hugs to both. I didn't exchange with Jameslewis much but saw and admired his integrity and genuine care for others.

I seem to recall he posted a pic of himself on that 'Men Doing' thread I hosted way back. Let me seek it out and post it here on your thread, GE, in his honour.

Hey. Good man. Rest in peace.

Simon :(:(

Thank you, Simon. He was a good friend to a lot of people on here. He will be missed.

Integrity, YES. That was him.

Thank you, Simon.

i had only a couple of things exchanges with him, but the first word that came to mind when thinking about him was “kindness”

he’ll be missed

Oh shucks what a shame. James took the picture down way back. But he left his caption there and here it is:

"I was asked if I'd contribute a shot, so here is one from a backpacking trip, 10 days in the Wallowa Mountains."

Some of you might remember the photo. Awesome scenery, James at steady pace, with his dog, walking up a steep rough track wearing a real stylish hat. I like it that it made such an impression on me! I hope others might remember it too.

Thanks for trying, Simon.

I have a picture of him on my laptop opening his birthday present that I bought him. He had the biggest smile on his face. I don't know what he enjoyed more, the beer that I bought him or the key lime pie candy.

I love to think that he ate the candy while drinking the beer.
