ok i have a question for all you technical sorts out there
i have taken some shots to post on the am boards but when itried posting them it came up they were too big
how do i alter the size or is there any software i can download to use for this
please make your answers easy to understand i am a bit computer illiterate
many thanks in advance:)

You can use any imaging software. I use adobe photoshop and paint shop pro.

You can get a free demo at their websites

for PSP: http://www.jasc.com/download_4.asp?

Photoshop: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html#Products

You can also do a search on cnet for image editors.

As far as the actual resizing, when you open the programs, you would go to image-->resize-->and when the properties box pops up, make your pic no bigger than 800 x 600.

I hope this helps.

thanks very much loveto read that has been most helpful and informative now i need to go have a little play and see if i can get it to work:)

There should have been an image processing program bundled with your camera or scanner -- look in the help menu for "resize" or "resample" for details on how that program does it. (Some programs have both resize and resample functions -- use the resample function if there is a choice.)

If you have Win 98 or later and/or MS Word, you should also have MS Photo Editor, which is good at simple resizing of pictures. (Kodak Imaging which you should also have does NOT have a resize function.)

The two programs lovetoread suggested are both very good programs for almost anything you want to do with an image, but they're both a bit spendy once the trial version expires.

IrFanview is a FREE image management program that is excellent for resizing pictures and includes a "thumbnail browser" that makes finding and previewing images simple.

That's what I like about that program -- it's simplicity. Well, that and it's cost. :p
