RESIZING AVS = resizing avs

I don’t know if anyone else has had problems with their AV, but I just did.

I have a animated picture I used before. It’s too big, but I could link to it, previously.

I hit 100 posts, and tried to install – for quite a while - before noticing that the instructions stated “over 100".

At 103 posts, I tried again. This time I could not link to my picture, although there was a place to link with. I even tried to upload the picture, but – as expected – it was too big.

Checking with several download sites to see if there was anything that would shrink the picture, I found that there was, for only $20 to $50. (Just to shrink an Avatar?)

Finally, good old Jeeves pointed me to a place that does that kind of thing –– online! I didn’t even need to take a chance on downloading some buggy program.

SO ———

To belatedly celebrate my 100th post, I am starting my very first thread, here, to point the way to mediabuilder GIFWORKS 3.0 for anyone who might have need of it.

By the way it is FREE.

Not FREE to use until you get the hang of it.

Not FREE to download with a couple of megs of adware, spyware, and god-only-know-what ware.

But, FREE as in available without charge.

Check it out, if you need it.

First off, congrats on reaching 100 and for having a VERY cool AV! :D :nana:

That site sounds good. I've never used an animated AV, so haven't come up against that pitfall (but I guess I'd use Fireworks). I just resize my AVs in Photoshop.

But, I will check that site out, sounds like a good tool to know.

Thanks, Virtual!

Muchisimas gracias, VB, y felicidades de,

Perdita :rose:

You have a PM.

Congratulations!

Makes me teary-eyed - wasn't that long ago that I passed 100 posts.

Woohoo!

**and, no, that's not a typo. I did mean "100" posts. I'm talkative, plus the raid on the GB raised it considerably.

Thank you darling, I've just checked that out and it has definite potential.

You're a star!

They work cheap ...

Dear Virt Burl,
I have employed two different services to resize, enhance, modify, add to, etc. troublesome AVs. Their services were very reasonable (free), and the work was done promptly and professionally. Their names are Svenska and Perdita. I highly recommend them for AV manipulation.
Helpfully,
MG

Ms Girl ... Math ... MG,

I prefer manual manipulation.

If you can direct me toward a Manuel, or as I am an equal opportunity persona, an eManuel, I would be most grateful. ;)

Beautiful AV -- It's a woman getting dressed, right? Is it you?

Tatelou: ... a VERY cool AV!

Virtu: A little breezy at times.

Perdita: Muchisimas gracias, VB, y felicidades de,

Virtu: Er < looking about for the Babblefish url > you’re welcome?

cloudy: Makes me teary-eyed...

Virtu: Teary-eyed, you say. Could it be from the Slammer fumes?

SadieRose: You're a star!

Virtu: Mmm ... more like a headliner.

Sub Joe: ... Is it you?

Burly: Close. Blond on top, more curves than strictly fashionable, but I don’t look like I’m wearing a Valkyrie.’s breastplate.

I thought Mr. Joe was using a closeup of a dead cabbage as a Rorschach test, then diagnosing our psychoses from our responses.

 Silly me!

I used to use photoshop until I moved to Vermont. Now I use the latest version of ACDSee which comes with some basic (but useful) photo manipulation tools.

Just don't ask how I registered it.

Well, that's Vermont for you.

Nah, it's what I get for leaving a pair of top end computers behind me in the UK because they were too bulky to ship over.

*sigh* Now that's love. :D

Halloooo, Mr, Joe,

When your present AV tires of juggling that bottle, perhaps he could think up some other activity.

Go ahead, use this, if you have the nerve.

I never would.

Nice. I like silent black and white movies . The clip's from an unreleased Laurel and Hardy feature "The Lawnmower Salesmen", unless I'm much mistaken.

Unless ...

I thought it may inspire you through any writer's block, during the upcoming Olympics.

Free programs are the best, but I can use the second best.

My work :D paid for a course to update my computer skills which left me with FrontPage and ImageComposer. All proper registered and at minimum cost. Somehow I don't think they would appreciate the use I put IC to. LOL

It's nice for giving a personal twist if you want to as well. You could use it the erase copyright tags. :nana:
