Ray:
I stood on the roof, watching the sun rise over the hills in the distance. They didn't know I was there, atop the small building's roof, staring out at the peaceful scene. The sun broke over the hills as it had every morning since the Earth began, its rays meeting my face as the had the faces of many before me and hoefully would for many generations after I'd gone. But the face they struck just then wasn't the same as those that had been graced by thier glory so many times in the past.
I stood, stretched, and took in a deep breath. Then I turned to face the city behind me, something I'd blocked out for the few seconds the sun was rising. Desperation was another of Umbrella's victims. An entire city left to rot to nothingness, those of us left around trapped inside, unable to escape. The city was barricaded in, in attempt to keep the creatures here. Unfortunately, that kept us here as well. And worse still, I was fairly certain some of the creatures had managed to escape anyway. The world outside was in for a treat. No question about that.
I grabbed the shotgun I was carrying and hurried over to the open door, wanting to get inside before any of the creatures outside caught sight of me.
