Set-up: (for those who haven't read the casting call, especially)
The town of Raccoon city was only one of several cities that were haunted by Umbrella Corp.'s unwanted activities...another of these cities was Desperation...
A growing city, Desperation had both Urban and rural communities that were shattered when Umbrella's experiments got out of hand. Umbrella's personel became scarce once the creatures got out, invading the city and the smaller areas surrounding it both. Within days, the city was over-run. People hid indoors, hoping that military would be sent in to save them. ANd perhaps it would, though currently, most of the country's military might was occupied, both abroad (as always) or clearing other cities of Umbrella's evil influence. All thought of Umbrella's mansion, and of the odd sounds and sights people had heard while passing by.
Anyone is welcome to join, but remember...RE has NO GOD-LIKE CHARACTERS...no demons or devils or demi-gods or magic. Just science Fiction and Horror related topics are covered here.

RAY DANIELS:
I stirred, hearing the sound, but only distantly...
"Ummm..." I muttered, my eyes refusing to open. Reality fought me, but currently, I was winning. I could feel a cool breeze, and something wet on my forehead.
The sound got louder, coming closer I guessed but wasn't sure.
My head felt as heavy as a cement block...it ached slightly. I pried my eyes open. I was in the car, but the scene outside the windshield wasn't quite right...I thought for a moment, my brain groggy and unresponsive. WHatever was wrong was obviously wrong...but what was it?
I lifted my arm, finding it somehow above my head and placed it to my forehead. The liquid there was warm and thick. i looked at my fingers, wet with the substance.
Blood.
I'd hit my head somehow...but...
It started to come back to me then. I'd been driving and someone had stepped out in front of the vehicle, appearing as though they were either drunk or stoned. I'd turned, knwoing I wouldn't be able to slow it down enough to stop before I hit him, and the tires screeched as the vehicle sped out toward the railing, then flipped once as the side of the vehicle hit.
But where was I now?
I must be on the other side of the railing, but what was there? It looked to be a drop-off when I was driving past, but what was below was still a mystery.
Lucky for the seatbelt, I thought, patting the belt, which still held me in place, my weight pushing down against it.
Upside down and slightly injured, and I'd be sore, but I was alive.
The sound came again, a loud siren-like honking that was very familiar but still escaping my memory.
I looked out the window, seeing that what was odd was that it was upside down, then saw the bright light coming towards me, still several hundred feet away, but closing.
Honking sound and bright light...TRAIN!
I unhooked the seatbelt and let myself fall, trying to sheild my head from the roof with one hand. Once there, I looked around at the scene outside the car.
I was definitely in the trains path, right on the tracks. People were gathered arouhd, or gathering, but were moving slowly. Is everybody in this town n alcoholic? I wondered. I reache dinot the back, grabbing my nine-Millimeter and the two spare magazines and stuffing them into my pockets, then grabbing my 12-guage shotgun and a box of ammo. I looked out the window, hearing the train again, to see it quickly bearing down on me.
"SHit!" I spat, thinking, and I just filled the Fuckin' tank!
I crawled out of the car, seeing the people standing around in a new light. They were filthy, dressed in old ripped clothing and covered i something that looked like black paint in the dim light of the moon. THe trains light, however was not dim, and they weren't even responding to it. They just trodded around, looking at the car for a moment.
"Get out of here!" I shouted, "The car's gonna blow!"
I ran away from the vehicle, some of them following me, but others just staring at the vehicle, as if they wondered if anyone else might be inside.
I stopped running once I was about thirty yards away and looked back. THose that had followed me were slow-moving and headed directly for me. As the train neared, I noticed something else...people were gripping the sides of it, and when the train should have been braking to avoid the contact, it wasn't. THe engineer apparently inended to drive right through it.
Shit, I thought, WHat the fuck is going on here?

OOC:

Okay.... here is my character

Name: Jeremy Redfield
Age: 20
Height: 5'11
Weight: 180lbs
Hair: Brownish red
Eyes: Brown

Jeremy is the youngest brother in the Redfield family and has come to Desperation in search of his brother and city who have both disappeared. He knows that Umbrella is behind it so wants to break into their offices and see if he can find if Umbrella knows their whereabouts.

IC:

The first thing that Jeremy noticed when he drove into the city was that it was quiet. It was actually too damn quiet- there was nobody about and that bugged him. He stopped his car and looked around, wondering what the fuck had happened. He got out of the car and took a step away from it calling out. The first thing he noticed was the dead silence.

He got back into his car and looked down at the bag which held the only thing that his brother Chris had left behind, his shotgun. Before they had disappeared Chris and Claire had told Jeremy what had really happened in Raccoon City and Jeremy thought that it was just an over active imagination. He pushed his foot down on the accelerator and drove deeper into the city, noticing the devestation.

Okay, maybe they didn't have an overactive imagination. And that means that I am in deep shit. Jeremy thought as he looked around for any signs of life.

Ray

Profile:

Name: Ray Daniels
Gender: Male
Age: 27

Character Description: Ray is 5-11, about 180 lbs, slightly muscular. He usually wear jeans and T-shirt (often black) and usually a long brown trench coat. His eyes are brown, and his short hair is light brown, often covered by a black bandana. His only distinguishing marks are scars, mostly small ones, but a few large ones, including one on his right upper arm. He keeps them well-covered and is very self-conscious about them.

Bio: Ray is in Desperation in search of his siter, who's been missing for three months. He's a bounty hunter...not a hitman, but a bounty hunter. He's just arriving in Desperation as things are getting the best of the town.

IC:
THe train barreled toward the car, unstopping and not even slowing. I noticed then that the people staggering toward me looked very sick. Their eyes were wide, unfocused. They moaned as they came nearer. No words but sounds just the same.
What the hell is going on here?
One reache dout for me, rying to bite me. I pushed it down, then looke dto the train, saw the people hanging on to it and realized why the engineer wasn't trying to stop the damn thing.
THey're insane, or sick, and they'll kill me, I thought. Why I don't know, but they will.
I raised the shotgun, pumping it once. I'd grabbed it mostly because it was there, and that i didn't want to lose a weapon that had been so good to me as this one had. Now, I was glad I had grabbed it.
"Don't come any closer," I ordered, shifting the barrel from one to the next. "I'm warning you..."
The train hit the car then, some of the people being thrown from the side to the ground nearby upon impact. THe car exploded on contact, flames bursting out into the night in a sudden eruption. At thirty yards, I flinched on reflex alone.
The people didn't flinch though, just continued to stalk toward me. Some of the people who'd stayed near the vehicle were caught up in the flames nd thrown backward. AS the train continued on through, pushing the car along the tracks, some of them stood, burning alive, and started to walk again, not seeming to notice that they were in flames.
"Oh my god," I muttered.
I debated chasing after the train, then thought against it. Surely the impact of the train and car would cause some disruption to the train's path, would cause a crash.
Another of them reached out for me. I pushed him back as well. He advanced again immediately. I pointed the weapon in the air, not wanting to kill anyone, and fired it once.
They didn't seem to notice.
Shit, I thought, fire or run?
Better to run, I decided, than to have assault charges. It would probably be considered excessive if I fired here, and that would mean assault, as it wasn't necessary to injure them so badly to defend myself.
I raised the weapon in front of me and started to run between them, pushing them down when they got too close. They groped at me as I passed them, but I managed to get by.
I moved as fast as I could, heading along the same road I'd driven on, wondering what the hell was going on and if I'd make it to Desperation alive...

OOC: Here's my bio again.

Name: Michael Evans

Age: 23

Hair: Black

Eye: Blue

Ht: 6'2"

Wt: 200lbs

Bio/Description: Michael belongs to a group that is against genetic testing and cloning, Unistar. Since Umbrella is known for its dabbling in genetics, Unistar has made it their number one target. Michael is a former Army Ranger with an extensive background in firearm and stealth combat. He has been sent to Desperation to investigate Umbrella activities. Michael is all ready in Desperation when things go bad. However, is still loyal to his mission and will still try to acomplish it.

IC: *CRASH!!!!* I dive out a window of the restraunt and into the street. I turn around and fire three rounds from my 9mm back into the building. "Fuck!" I thought, "Those things just keep coming!" I fire two more rounds into the room. The one following me finally drops. I let out a sigh of relief.

"Uuuhhhhhh."

I open my eyes wide and turn around. Another one! And he's got friends with him!. The head human, well, it resembles a human anyway, lunges for me, I leap back, but it grabs my foot. A swift kick takes off it's head. I fire two rounds into the next advancing creature, but it too lunges and knocks my gun away. In one swift move I pull out my combat knife and spin, cutting the creature across the throat and I roll towards my gun. I come up and hurl the knife at a creature, catching it in the face and dropping it. I retrieve my 9mm, and fire four rounds into the remaining creature, dropping.

"Whew," I say aloud, "that sucked."

I look at the bodies around me and reload as I stumble backwards into the street, unaware of the oncoming car . . .

Jeremy

I stopped the car as soon as I saw the person stumble out into the street in front of it. I stopped mere inches in front of him and got out of the car, shouting at him. "What did you think you were doing- going in front of my car like that. You could have been killed you-" I then heard a noise in front of us and looked to see a person stumbing towards the two of us only he looked at though his flesh was slowly falling off.
"What the hell is that thing and what does it want with us."

The thing began to stumble towards us and without warning jumped towards me, trying to bite my neck. I threw it to the ground and reached into my car, grabbing my shotgun. As I came out of the car, shotgun in hand I could hear the gun fire and saw the person that I had almost run over firing at the creature. I brought my shotgun up and fired at the thing's midsection, watching it disappear.

The think fell to the ground but began to claw towards me and I thought What does it take to kill these things? I fired a shot into its head and watched it disappear then shouted out, "Die why don't you!" I then heard a noise and saw more of the creatures coming towards us and turned to the other person and said, "Well seeming as you are the only living person that I have seen and they are after you and I get into the damn car."

Michael

Seeing as how difficult things will be on foot, I nod and step into the car. Breathing hard, I take out the empty clip in my gun and replace it. I casually look over at the driver.

"Thanks for not running me over."

Jeremy

I laughed at that and then looked over at the person and said, "My name's Jeremy Redfield- it is a pleasure to meet you and I'm glad that I didn't kill you either. Now could you please tell me what the hell is happening around here?"

I look out and see the creatures- no, they were the zombies that Chris and Claire had told me about lining the streets as I sped down them.

Michael

I contiue to look out the window of the car. I address Jeremy without even looking at him.

"The name is Michael Evans. I'm here on a mission from Unistar to investigate possible Umbrella operations here in Desperation. As you can see, they were definately operating in this town. Those things you saw me shoot are, or rather, were humans. They've been infected with one of two genetic virus'. Either the T virus or the G virus. The T virus is the original strand concocted by Umbrella, the G virus is a mutated version of that strand. Either version, once in your system, will turn you into a zombie with a taste for human flesh. I highly recommend that if you become infected, the best course of action to take is put a bullet into your head. It'll save me time and ammunition."

I glance over for Jeremy's reaction. "If he feels the need to ask, then 'll inform him of how I know this," I think to myself as I turn my attention back to the streets.

At first I have no idea of what to say..... everything that Chris and Claire have told me are true. Umbrella is behind all of this and they were probably behind there disappearance too.

"I believe you about the zombies and the viruses. My brother and sister had to survive in Raccoon City after the outbreaks and they were lucky enough to survive. They destroyed the labs that had made the G and T virus and then they disappeared. I think, now I know that Umbrella had something to do with it. I need to know where there headquarters are and I have a bet that you are going to tell me that they are right on the outskirts of the city."

OCC:

Alright, umm...this is my first try at this, so please be kind.

Name: Aaron Michaels
Age: 19
Hair: Long, grungy, and jet black
Eyes: Brown

Bio: Aaron is a fresh-faced kid who just got off for his first college break. He's hoping to return to the loving arms of his parents after nearly an entire year away. Alas, the scene that welcomes him is quite different from what he expects...

IC: As I rode into town in my beat up toyota, my mind was as far away from the familiar roads as it could get. All I could think about was how good it would feel to be welcomed back into my home with open arms, to taste some of mom's delicious apple fritters...ahh, I couldn't wait. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the sudden change in my surroundings as I entered my beloved town. I probably wouldn't have seen anything amiss until I stopped by our house, except I happened to glance out the driver's side window. My eyes fixated on the magnificent form of the police station...in shambles. The door was destroyed, the windows boarded up, the roof caved in. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the scene. That is, until I accidently slammed through some poor pedestrian. As soon as I felt the thump, my eyes swerved to the road just in time to see a face thud against the glass of my windsheild. I slammed on the brakes and skidded to a stop. I got out to survey the damage that I had wrought. The guy was in poor shape; obviously the impact of my truck tore his body in half. As I stood over the mangled corpse, wondering why a truck going 60 had enough force to seperate a man's top from his bottom, a hand shot out and grasped at my ankle. I quickly did what anyone would do; stomped on the dammned thing and ran, screaming, back to the truck.

Michael

I can't help but let out a laugh at this kid's naivity.

"Do you really think that those were the only two labs? Look, Redfield, this may come as a surprise but there are more labs creating T and G virus strands than the two your siblings destroyed. Umbrella sets up town just like Desperation and Raccon City for their twisted little expriments. The people I work for have been trying to shut them down ever since we caught wind of them. Word is that the headquarters is in Chicago, but taking that down wouldn't do anything. No, the best way would be to find a list of all the labs, and shut them down one by one. Now Unistar, my partners, have a partial list. That's why I'm in Desperation. I was sentto locate and destroy the lab here in Desperation before it became another Raccoon City. I was too late to prevent the latter from happening, but I can still gather information and destroy the lab. Won't be easy, though. Not with all these zombies about. A partner could be usefull, provided he can ep his wits about him. You up for it?"

I couldn't help but feel like a fool as I hadn't believed what Claire and Chris had told me and then found that everything had been true. And now those bastards were here in Desperation, destroying everything and this person was asking me if I would help. What was I going to say, no and leave him to die.

"Of course I'm going to help you. But we need to find a gun shop somewhere and grab as many weapons as we can because I don't think. No, I know that what we have isn't going to be nearly enough."

Michael

"Sounds like an idea to me. I doubt if they'll have the proper ammunition for this though," I said, pulling out my S & W M829C revovler. "This badass uses .44 Magnum bullets. Not the easiest type of ammunition around. But it doesn't matter, I have have enough on me to reload this baby five more times. I'm saving him for the bigger ones."

I glance out the window again and see a kid diving into his truck, speeding off.

"Hey! I just saw another survivor! Tail him!"

I didn't need any other encouragment. I slammed my foot down on the accelerator and raced off after the truck, wondering just who the hell was driving the damn thing and why they were driving so fast. Suddenly there was a screech of something totally nasty overhead and before either of us knew what was happening something landed onto the roof of the car, denting it.

I grabbed the shotgun and pointed it up at the roof and said, "This will make some noise so it would be best to cover your ears."

With that I pulled the trigger on the shotgun, hearing a loud screech from the thing of the roof of the car.

Ray

I was on foot for almost an hour, those things, which I no longer viewed as human, following me the whole way, staggering and stumbling, but always back there. Now and again, more would wander from the trees to either side and join them. i was quickly gaining quite a fan following...you'd think I was all four Beatles by the looks of the mob chasing after me.
I didn't sprint, couldn't have kept it moving for as long a trip as I was certain I had to make, and as long as I kept moving, they weren't gaining, at least not usually, although when the hills got too steep, they did tend to catch up a little.
I must have traveled seven miles, a long seven miles, before I heard anything other than the unceasing drones of their voices behind me.
"Aahhhhh, Uhhhnnnn." Constantly...
THe new sound didn't sink in at first, then became all too clear as it neared, at an immense rate.
First, it was leaves being crushed, then the constant tick-tick of something hitting pavement. I heard it approaching and turned in time to see some sort of wild dog diving at me. I ducked, rolling, and watched it fly overhead. It landed, took a few seconds to slow, then turned toward me again, growling and it advanced.
No other choices,I thought, raising the shotgun and firing, hitting it and sending it back with a loud whimper.
Sorry, Pooch, I thought, I can't let you bite me. And I guess that takes care of all that...
I started moving again, then heard another growl. i glanced back, expecting to see another, but it moving again, running toward me.
I fired at it again, sending it back once more, then fired a third shot as it started to rise again.
This time it stayed down.
Shit, I thought, What the hell is going on here?!
No time to think, the mob was getting far too close. I started to run again, this time running instead of jogging, wanting to get ahead of them.
About a mile further up the road, I saw a few of them congregating around something along the side of the road. They were on their knees, leaning over something, growling greeding...eating?
I slowed when I saw the motorcycle nearby, skid marks leading up to is from where the rider had apparently turned it on its side. As I moved closer, needing to be almost within grabbing distance to get to the motorcycle, I could see leather clad legs laying against the pavement, the rest of the body covered by...whatever the hell they were.
My stomach turned as I stared in amazement and disgust.
Don't think and don't ask questions, my mind insisted. You might be in over your head this time, Ray.
I grabbed the cycle and heaved it up onto its wheels, checked to be sure the key was still in it, then pushed it further up the road, moving as fast as I could. The mob came closer, but were still a good ways back. I straddled the cycle and tried to kickstart it.
It turned over, but didn't start.
Shit, I thought, as the ones who were feasting saw me and started to get up. THe mob was closing in fast, about twenty feet away, and there were tons of them...
I tried to kickstart it again with the same result.
Glancing back...ten feet and closing...
One more time and it's off to the races again...
I pushed down with all of my weight, neither foot touching the ground as I did. It rumbled to life.
"Thank you..." I muttered, sitting down on it and glancing back as they reached out for me, less then five feet away. Fingers grazed my coat as the cycle carried me away from them.
I flipped the headlight on and settled the shotgun on my lap, gripping the handle bars tightly and raising my knees to keep the weapon pinned against my body.
I sped off toward Desperation, leaving the mob stumbling behind me.

"I don't you killed it," I say following the blast. "I'm going to take a closer look."

With that being said, I pull my S&W Revolver from it's holster and roll down the window, I pull myself up so I'm sitting on the window, my head above the roof. What I saw shocked me. It was a creature known as a "licker," a name given to it by the RPD due to it's razor sharp tongue. It was on it's back, a smoking wound in it's chest from where Redfield shot it. It looked dead, but one blast?

Suddenly, the licker flipped itself up onto all fours. It catches me in it's view, and turns to face me. It shoot out it's tongue at me, I lean back and barely avoid it. I'm dangling, half out of the car, half in. The licker peers it's head over the edge of the car to see what happened to it's prey. With a clear view of it's head, I fire a round from my revolver into it's head, killing it and forcing it to fall backwards off the car. With some difficultly I pull myself back into the car and settle back into my seat. Redfield looks at me, as if to ask what it was.

"One of the bigger guys," I said, focusing back on the truck.

Ray

The motorcycle wasn't a big cycle, but it was fast. I found myself zipping up the hill toward Desperation, seeing the Buildings that roseinto the air coming closer. Desperation was a city on the rise apparently...becoming larger as I came closer and already exceeding my expectations. It was a well-kept secret, it seemed, large buildings and high commerce, hidden away by itself and apparently plagued by a greater secret.
As I got higher up the hill, I glanced down over the side of the large hillside that was growing to my right. From where I was, I could see the train, still rolling on toward the city, the first car emblazoned from the impact with the car.
Damn, I thought, something is terribly wrong with this place.
I couldn't wait to find Deana and get the hell out of here.
As I neared the city, i could see that a barricade had been set up. The center had been broken through, leaving just enough room me to roll the cycle through. As I slowed to do this, I noticed that the barricade had been broken out of, not into, meaning that whatever they'd built the barricade for had been meant to be kept in, not out.
I didn't like the looks of that. I needed to find the police station, to find someone who could help me...

Aaron

As soon as I heard the shotgun blast I decided to hazard a glance backward. The scene that laid behind me was gruesome; a car had stopped, and lying atop it's hood was a horrible, bloody mess. I screeched to a halt to survey the scene better (I also incredulously thought that I needed to get my brakes checked as soon as I could fine a repair shop). A man climbed halfway out the passenger's window and seemed to investigate his handiwork. When the...thing started to attack him, he blew it's head off with a handgun. I thought to myself "That guy looks like he knows what the fuck's going on around here." I watched as he climbed back into the car, and decided that any guy that could blow the head off a screaming mass of blood and meat was my new best friend. I opened the door to my truck, making sure that my hands were in plain sight. Even if he was my new best friend, I was pretty sure he didn't know it yet. Besides, he had a gun.

Ray

The streets of Desperation were eerily lifeless. Here and there, the mindless people wandered, moaning in their awkward chorus, staggering toward me when they saw me pass, but all in all, nothing like what went on at the bottom of the hill. I thought back to the way the barricade had been broken and thought, yes, whatever is going on here, it definitely got out...
I rode slowly through town, watching to make sure the things that were staggering around weren't getting too close to me as I passed.
I was taking to the bike...not a Harley or anything like that, which I liked...I lived a fairly solitary life, rarely dealing with others for too long, and seldom going with the crowd when i did. My choice of work had made me a loner, and I hated to go with the crowds. Harleys were fine motorcycles, but they had become an institution...a high profile club, where the members, those who owned and rode them, could carry themselves from day to day as though they were King or Queen at a high school prom...and guess what...I didn't go to the fuckin' prom.
So I liked the cycle, it was small, basic, and kept me moving...and it was fast when I needed it to be, which I definitely liked.
As I rolled through the city, I came across a few signs of life that I almost looked past, half-believing them to be figments of my imagination. First, it wasn't really life, but death...bodies lay around a scattering of glass in the street. Looks like something has recently gone down. I slow to check the bodies, not wanting to leave anyone to suffer when i might be able to save them. Unfortunately, it looks as though my asumption was wrong...these people had been dead for quite some time, were rotting as they lay there.
How long has this place been deserted?
I start moving again, taking a narrow alley to the end and rolling out into the street to see some people milling around outside...yes! The police Station!
I pulled the cycle over to the side a few yards down the street from them, thinking they must be here for the same reason as me.
I turn the engine off, seeing them turn to me, and hop off the cycle, keeping the shotgun in my hands.
"Hey, are they...?"
"Aaahhnnnn." One mutters staggering toward me.
"SHit!" I raise the weapon. "Okay, I'm getting tired of fucking with you bastards. Stop, or I'll blow you down."
They staggered closer, paying no attention to me threat.
"last warning..."
Still, they came closer.
I fired once, aiming for the nearest one's left arm, hoping to do minimal damage. Its arm was blown to peices, leaving only a few threads of flesh dangling from its shoulder. It staggered backward, then groaned again and started toward me.
"What the...?"
I took a closer look at it as it stepped near. One eye was missing, as was its left ear. The smell of decay came to me like a sudden slap in the face. I staggered back then, feeling like vomiting again.
They were...dead?

Nina

Name: Nina

Age: Approx 20

Details: 5'4", slender but curvy in the right places. Imagine Max from Dark Angel. [grins]

IC: NINA...

Nina watches the new comers from inside the room she's managed to hide out in. The curtains are all torn and ragged and give her plenty of openings to peek through.

She notices immediately that they're not like the others. They move quicker and with a sense of direction she hasn't seen in a long time. She is almost relieved to see them but she's too afraid to show herself yet. She's been here too long to just naively go out there. They could be dangerous.

She doesn't realise it, but she's built like someone custom designed her to be pleasing to a man. Or a woman if she were that way inclined. She seems to ooze a sexual charm that is at odds with the sweetness of her face. An altogether too tempting package.

She watches them all intently wondering what they are doing here.

Michael

I notice that the truck has stopped. I look out the window and see that the kid drving it is walking slowly towards us, hands held high. He's taking slow, akward steps as if he's trying not to wake something. I laugh at this kid, but my laughter quickly silences. Two zombies are slowly walking up behind him, and this kid is totally unaware. I lean back out the window, 9mm drawn and pointing towards him.

"GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE ASAP!!!!" I scream before opening fire on the zombies.

Aaron

I saw the guy with the handgun lean out the window again and scream at me to get my ass over there. In reflex I turned about and looked behind me. Two monstrosities that may have once been men glared at me with glazed over eyes. This alone would not have elicted much of a response, except that one of these things...zombies, ghouls, whatever they are, had been disemboweled and his intestines were dripping out onto the pavement.
Holy shit, what the fuck was going on here?
While I was transfixed by the physical impossibility of a walking corpse, the one on the left lurched at me, his mouth open wide, drooling a bloody saliva. The wretched stench of thier foul breath filled my nostrils and caused me to nearly gag. I screamed again, louder this time. Loud enough to wake the dead, I thought mirthlessly, if it hadn't already been awake (my mind has the uncanny ability to be on a totally different track from the rest of the world). I quickly turned around on my heels and took off. The slick bottoms of my sneakers thudded against the pavement as burnt out, leaving the ghouls to stumble in my wake.
As I ran towards the relative saftey of the car (and the man with a gun), I lost my footing and sprawled out in a large pile of shattered glass that was obviously thrown into the street when one of the windows of the nearby buildings shattered.
Ignoring the lacerations on my arms and knees, I pushed myself up to my hands and knees and took off again. Slow and dull though they may be, those ghouls were still advancing on me. Their groans and mutters reached my ears as I closed in on the last few yards between me and the car. I finally reached my sanctuary, and wrenched the door open. Without bothering to wait for an invitation, I dove in the back seat.

Ray

I pumped the shotgun, then fired into the thing again, sending it backward a few steps. When it moved forward again, I didn't hesitate, but shot again, sending it to the ground, blood spraying through the air as if it were a fountain.
As another closed in, I decided to wait, letting it get almost close enough to grab me. No sense in wasting bullets, I raised the weapon, touching the barrel to its head, then pumped it quickly and fired. Its head burst, bits of it landing everywhere, but none any large that a penny. The body staggered further for a moment, then fell to its knees and slumped over.
More were coming, crawling out of the woodwork.
I couldn't beat them all, at least I didn't think so. I glanced to the police station, saw that it was all boarded up (and in bad condition otherwise), then decided that, if anyone were there who would be willing to help me, they'd have come out by now. I jumped on the motorcycle, kickstarted it again, then started off down the street, dodging between the zombies as they staggered by and knocking one over here and there if they were too close.
I heard gunshots then, ringing out from not too far away. I kicked it inot high gear, speeding off toward the sound...

Jeremy

I watched as the zombie fell to the ground then suddenly heard a groaning sound coming from in front of us and turned to see a large group of zombies coming towards them. He grabbed his shotgun and with a shout began to fire shot after shot at them, watching as they fell to the ground. I smiled, thinking that they were dead by gasped when they began to get up. I stood there unable to say anything but then heard shots from another gun and looked to see my partner firing at the zombies.

I then saw a sign that I hoped to see and shouted out, "Look- it's a gun shop. We have to go there!"
