i have a bit of research to do and i'm not quite sure how to start. Given a subject, what would be the best way to go about it? i know, i know...the world is at my fingertips...it's just a mighty big world and i don't know where to begin.

So, here's the thing, i suppose...can anyone recommend a good site to find women's health organizations, or women's organizations in general?

i do have google running in another window, and yahoo has been a tiny bit of help. Is there any search engine where i could actually ask a question instead of narrowing my search with key words?

Any help would be appreciated, this is very important to me.

:rose:Thank you:rose:

Ask Jeeves is a pretty good search engine and you can ask a question there if you want as a way to search.

I would simply start by looking at a site for a single women's health organization if you know of one. Most organizations especially not-for-profits post links to other organizations that have similar or related missions.

If you don't know of any to start with, just go to google.com and run a search on the phrase "women's health organization" using the quotation marks and you'll no doubt get a long list of sites to look at.

Start with the National Organization for Women (N.O.W.) website, the CDC, the U.N. (perhaps more specifically, the World Conference on Women in Beijing), Unicef, W.H.O, Planned Parenthood or any other broader political and health NGOs.

Some of these will have information and links that you can use to find other resources.

Joanna,

You could also try some of the hospital sites, such as Mayoclinic.com , Clevelandclinic.com they have good information on woman's health issues. They are not orgainizations as such but can direct you. Also about.com is a good place for info as well as links. Good luck sweetie!

Thank you all...

You have helped quite a bit. It will be a long process, i'm sure, but one well worth it.

try cosmo

you could also try the webmd website for some health info.

one "off the wall" suggestion would be the cosmopolitan magazine website. they cater to women and i'm sure they have a women's health section.

good luck.
