I believe that for anybody within the BDSM lifestyle, there is two steps that need to be taken as follow:
The first step, is admitting to yourself that you are interested in this lifestyle.
The second step, is becoming active within the lifestyle.
Both of these steps are always required if your a Dominant/Master or submissive/slave.
