Requests?

We have gotten a few requests over the time we've been writing here. Many are suggestions for where our existing stories should go next, but quite a few are one or two sentence plot lines. Sometimes, they make us smile or wonder if we could write something plausible around the seed. This latest one sounds interesting, but we wonder if we might be getting spun up on some tangent, especially as the suggestion is anonymous...

I love your work, and won't make requests, but if suggestions mean anything I'd be stoked to see a post apocalypse story in your style (what can I say, other writers aren't much competition)

I get weird requests all the time about what they want to see me write, either into a story, or some new concept entirely. Some have been strange, some horrific. One person wanted me to write a story about two of my current characters who are besties ending up hating one another and trying to kill each other. No idea where that came from. :/

One person asked me to write a story about a priest who raped nuns.

I've had a few readers I've inserted into my stories in bit parts, that makes them happy.

Readers are odd little ducks...

I used to try writing for people but the requests began to get too odd for my liking.

I received a few comments asking for another part to a story but if I feel it's done, I just ignore them. I added Broken Butterfly to Eileen because I knew it wasn't done. I might eventually add one more piece.

We left it in because that was the part that made if feel like an anonymous spin up to head off on an errant project... Thus the post...

Did you have to leave in, 'What can I say, other writers aren't much competition?' I don't know, it feels insulting.

I wouldn't be insulted. If they're trying to get MM to write something of course they're going to lay on the schmooz.

That and I think all of us here have gotten the 'you're the best writer on this site/ best story I've read on this site' comment and feedback.

By volume I think sr71plt is the best, is there a way to get a list of the most prolific authors?

Based on their stories on Lit, I guess, unless somebody's got a tool that'll check everyone against every possible publishing method or site.

Wait a minute . . . you mean they said that about other people, too?

I feel . . . deflated.

Sorry, Simon, they're cheating on you. Right after they tell you how great you are they come and tell me the same thing.

When you pick a name like BiscuitHammer, shit like that's going to happen.

What's wrong with Biscuit Hammer? It was good enough for my rabbit.

Granted, I also had a hermit crab 'The Big Toenail Of Satan' and a bearded dragon named 'Dreamy Boom-Boom'...

Okay, I take your point.
