Republicans

Now, we have a petty, incompetent Republican president who only clearly cares about his re-election campaign; Republican congressmen who are only concerned about Trump’s image; and Republican senators who exploited the COVID-19 pandemic to perpetrate insider trading.

You not actually surprised by this are you?

Over the past three years, I've been watching Trump and every time a serious problem arises in this country, Trump unerringly follows the same methodology.

1. Deny the problem exists.
2. Get angry at the media for reporting on the problem.
3. Insist nobody could have predicted a problem like this would ever arise.
4. Blame somebody else for the problem.

5. then when someone else actually fixes the problem claim that he (Trump) did it and actually did it better than anyone else ever could.

Clues to Trump speeches/tweets:
When he doesn't know what to do or feels threatened, he name-calls. When he is about to lie he brags.

When he charges the someone is doing something illegal or unethical, he's trying to cover for having done the exact thing for years himself.

Speaking out of many sides of his mouth-

"I know everything."

"How could I have known ?"

"I was misinformed. Not my fault."

"You are so gullible! Did you actually believe anything that I have said ?"

"Losers."

"Of course I have abused and violated expectations. It is what I do."

The leader of the Republican Party is out there saying that comedy shows should be illegal and that an attorney cooperating with law enforcement is a "rat".

Seriously, I never want to hear another word out of Republican about how they're the "law and order" party.

Trump could kill a busload of nuns on live TV and the Republicans would claim that the nuns were "crisis actors" and claim that the TV crew who filmed the whole thing had committed some sort of crime.

Considering the abuse by nuns and priests in Catholic schools and churches, an angry mob may do something like that. Politicians may soon be refusing the support of Catholic leaders.

Since Donald Trump was sworn into office I've heard Republicans proclaim that collusion isn't a crime,

Collusion is teamwork. High five to Russia.

fraud isn't a crime,

Like Hillary stealing from her charity?

sexual assault isn't a crime,

It's surprise sex, not rape. Women don't want limp wristed men.

perjury isn't a crime and lying to the FBI isn't a crime.

Mueller said there was no collusion. Case closed. Here is a box of tissues. Cry elsewhere.

Once upon a time, didn't the Republican Party claim to be the Party of Law and Order? How did they become the Party of Obstruction and Cover-Ups?

Democrats do the same thing except CNN doesn't cover it. Stop acting the a baby and fuck off, bitch.
You poor demented little soul to have swallowed Trump's lies .

Demented Donald destroys the Republican party with his defective directionless dithering.

How, Oh How will the republicans get re-elected if they do not DUMP TRUMP?

They got their tax cuts, they don't need him anymore, will they let the Trumpublicunts sink the whole party? Covid-19 has almost taken first place in disasters with over 2000 deaths and will be worse that 9-11 or Pearl Harbour and could be worse that the whole Viet Nam war!

Infections are over 100,000 and probably will exceed 200,000 before this is fixed. 3.4 deaths/thousand will put us well over the 55,000 deaths and very few communists will have been killed! Mostly deep red state residents will die!

Heck of a job, Trumpy!

Panicked Republicans now want to blame impeachment for bungling the coronavirus response

Congress was slow to understand the threat from coronavirus, and now Republicans want to blame impeachment.

Back in January, as Democrats presented their evidence in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, only a few lawmakers from both parties were urging action against the highly contagious virus that had shut down parts of China and recently arrived in the United States, reported Politico.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) became alarmed over Martin Luther King Day weekend reading reports about the coronavirus in China, which he noticed a disconnect between China’s rosy statements about the outbreak and the drastic steps it was taking to contain it.

Publicly, however, Trump said Jan. 22 that his team had the U.S. outbreak “totally under control,” and only 14 senators showed up for an all-Senate briefing requested by Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and held on Jan. 24, which was the deadline for senators to turn in their impeachment questions.

“The initial thought from the Dems, I think, is that we were trying to distract from impeachment,” a Republican Senate aide said.

WATCH: Trump admits if Democrats make voting easier ‘you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again’

President Donald Trump is warning if Democrats’ efforts to make it easier for Americans to vote are successful Republicans will not win elections.

“I will tell you this. If you look at before and after, the things they had in there were crazy,” Trump said on “Fox & Friends” about Democratic proposals to the $2.2 trillion coronavirus support bill.

“They had things, um, levels of voting that if you ever agreed to it you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,” he said, effectively admitting GOP voter suppression efforts are necessary for the party to stay viable.

“They had things in there,” Trump continued, “you know, about Election days, and a, what you do,” the President said of Democrats’ attempts to ensure the November elections are safe for Americans during the coronavirus pandemic.

Donnie, you aren't suppose to say that out loud on national TV!

If this thread didn't use cut-and-paste would it be past 1 page?

A very astute observation! The political board has become an echo chamber for singular thought, kind of a * one better * TDS competition. Most LIT posters leave them to their own delusional devices. PB is a place completely devoid of objectivity.

Since truth matters, I'll continue to know that the failure to prepare for the pandemic sits squarely on the shoulders of Donald Trump and his Republican supporters.

Matt Gaetz attacks Mitch McConnell for not removing Richard Burr amid DOJ coronavirus stock probe

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to revoke Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) chairmanship of the Intelligence Committee.

CNN reported on Monday that the Justice Department is investigating the possibility that Burr profited off stock trades by using insider knowledge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“How can [McConnell] justify leaving someone as the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee who is being investigated by the FBI for criminally abusing their position for personal, financial gain?!?!” Gaetz exclaimed on Twitter.

Oh WOW, Trumpublicunt Fuck Tussle!

How the fuck does Gotz think the GOP runs their business? They're all on the take one way or another. Crooked to the core.

GOP’s ‘War on Science’ hurting government’s response to coronavirus: report

In an op-ed for New York Magazine’s Intelligencer this Monday, Janathan Chait warns that the “threat of recidivism” hangs over Donald Trump’s presidency in the wake of his late shift to a more serious tone in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

“At any moment, the wrong CEO or Fox News personality might get Trump’s ear and persuade him to toggle back to insouciance,” Chait writes.

“The skepticism has run up and down the food chain of right-wing discourse. The National Enquirer has hawked fake coronavirus cures,” Chait writes. “The Federalist published a column by a retired dermatologist urging readers to hold coronavirus parties to contract the disease intentionally, because it worked on chicken pox.”

The Chicken Fuckers Are BACK!!!

Wisconsin GOP Protects Election By Forcing In-Person Voting During Pandemic

"The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you'd ever agreed to it, you'd never have a Republican elected in this country again," Donald Trump complained to Sean Hannity about Democrats' proposals to ensure voter access in the coronavirus stimulus bill. Just saying the quiet part out loud about Republican vote suppression, as is his habit. HURR DURR, blarped the MAGAts in unison, LOOKIT CRAZY NANCY LARDIN' THE BILL UP WITH DEMOCRAT PORK.

Well ... meet Wisconsin, AKA Exhibit A in the "WUT DOES VOTIN' HAVE TO DO WITH THE 'RONA?" derpsplainer. Thanks to the indefatigable Ben Wikler, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, who tweeted out all the good links.

It started back in 2018, when Democrat Tony Evers beat then-GOP Governor Scott Walker in the November election, and the gerrymandered Wisconsin legislature raced to enact a bunch of laws during the lame duck session to curtail Evers's powers. Because, like Trump, the Wisconsin GOP knows that when people vote, they lose.

Wisconsin's primary is scheduled for next Tuesday, April 7, and while the presidential primaries are more or less a foregone conclusion, they're not the most important issue on the Wisconsin ballot. Control of the state's highest court is at stake, with Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky, a progressive champion of domestic violence victims, vying to unseat Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly, a Republican hatchet man.

Justice Kelly has made it abundantly clear that he'll sign off on rigging the state to keep the GOP in charge forever and stop Democrats from registering to vote in November. So of course the state GOP is pulling out all the stops to keep Kelly on the bench.

And then ... coronavirus hit. The GOP adamantly refused to move the primary date, because, see above, when people show up to the polls, they lose. And they weren't about to make it any easier for people to vote, either. No switch to all-mail voting. No extension of the April 2 deadline to request absentee ballots. No increased early voting. No abatement to the requirement that voters upload a photo ID to get an absentee ballot. No waiving the requirement that a witness sign the absentee ballot envelope. Bupkis.
