All Democrats voted for cloture with the exception of Schumer, who changed his vote to “no” so that the bill may potentially be brought up a later date. Meanwhile, all 50 Republicans voted against.

The bill has numerous provisions designed make it easier to vote and to register to vote. Among the measures, the act would expand automatic voter registration and same-day registration, make election day a national holiday, allow more people to vote by mail, and require states to expansive early voting.

The legislation also seeks to end partisan gerrymandering of districts and require the disclosure of dark money.

Correct Mr. Butters.
It’s called ballot harvesting.
Let’s hope they continue to vote against it.
And eliminate the mail in ballots all together.
No more anonymous voting. Look what that got babbling in the main office the last time.

Hahahaha, what a farce! Bidude has NOTHING more than, "I'm going to go right on pretending the Dems cheated when every last confirmed case of voter fraud from 2020 was by a Trump voter!" This ain't over.

Absolutely. Let’s make everyone who wants to vote show up in person at their county seat. Hope the snow isn’t too deep in those rural counties come November.

This feel-good legislation is nonsense when Social Security and medicare are going bankrupt.

The Democrat Party has some screwed up priorities.

JS, they actually believe that the illegals flooding across the border are going to save SS and medicare. All those new taxpayers don't ya know? They KNOW for a fact that the only way you can salvage a Ponzi scheme is to make sure there are more suckers paying in than taking out. So rather than privatize as has been recommended by "blue ribbon" panels going all the way back to the Clinton administration they have decided to inundate us with illegals. Which in effect is doing nothing more than kicking the can down the road. If they get their way those cockroaches will start drawing from the system as well and what's their solution then? Let even more illegals in?

It may solve the SS and medicare problem temporarily but it's going to play hell with the water and sewage problem.

Despite owning the legislative and executive branches, the democrats have not addressed anything that's on the public's priority list. They don't seem to know what they are doing.

That's the problem, they DO know what they're doing. They've just decided that their own interests are more important than the public interest.

That's a clumsy attempt to pass out candy. A national holiday would make sense if all voting is on one day only.

That’s because the more people that vote, the more republicans lose (to paraphrase Mitch McConnell)

The big question is, "Why in the hell did Schumer force a vote?" He's got some vulnerable members in that chamber and he's needlessly exposed them to a shit storm of political blow back from their republican challengers.

Is Schumer actively sabotaging 'Sleepy' Joe while pretending to toe the party line?

This bill was a no-brainer.

Republicans don't have a brain, they have Trump who tells them what to do.

If Butters or anyone else on this thread can’t figure out how to cast a ballot this fall, that’s ok.

The democrat party keeps telling us that the last election was the most secure election in history, and it's a fact that more people voted in it then ever before.

So what's the problem this Bill was supposed to solve? Are the dems saying the elections are not secure?

You're right. No one with any brains would ever consider voting for that steaming pile of shit.
