Republican Representative Darrell Issa, someone who supported Trump's presidential campaign, is now calling for a special prosecutor to investigate Russiagate.

"You are right that you cannot have somebody, a friend of mine -- Jeff Sessions -- who was on the campaign and who was an appointee," California Rep. Darrell Issa said Friday on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher." "You're going to need to use the special prosecutor's statute and office ... not just to recuse. You can't just give it to your deputy. That's a political appointee."

This comes after the White House tried to get the FBI to make false statements about reports of communications between the Trump campaign and Moscow, something the Trump campaign said never happened even though the truth is otherwise.

Holy crap. I'd just written him encouraging him to do this...I'm amazed.

Or maybe not. He almost lost in 2016.

Good for him. Truth must surface, justice must be done.

This is great news. I'm living in a world where I agree with Issa. Weird. And hey, if it's his hanging-on-by-a-thread political situation that's motivating his morality, so be it! Let the impeachment proceedings begin.
