What group other than liberals works so hard denying who they are?

Republicans. That's why a lot of them pretend to be libertarian.

This.....nothing politics wise get's on my tit's more than this.

"Yea I'm a libertarian! Legislate the Bible!!!"

"Dude! You sound JUST like a republican...."

"No way man! I'm all about liberty and freedom, but only as long as you're an upper middle class evangelical white male............M'ERICA!"

I see/hear this shit all the time living in Texas. It's like they are embarrassed about the negative connotations that accompany the label "conservative" or "republican" so they just say they are libertarian and continue to vote, argue and preach in favor of conservative social control agendas.

Is that like when an US citizen poses as a Canadian because they are embarrassed to of their home nation?
