Since 9/11, tough anti-terrorism statutes have been on the books, including a law prohibiting kids sledding in the snow on the steep hill in front of the United States Capitol.

When the Democrats were in charge, they routinely overlooked the non-enforcement of this important defense against terrorism.

The Republicans took over and by GAWD things are different now.

Capitol police have begun thwarting these pint-sized evildoers, keeping our nation safe from "terror sleds". When asked about this sudden rigid enforcement of this important law, the police responded that it was at the direct request of the "Appropriations Committee staff".

Appropriations Chairmen Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) and Congressman Harold Rogers (R-KY) both said they were shocked about this sudden turn of events. First they'd even heard of it, swear to GOD.

An aide to House Appropriations Chairman Harold Rogers told HOH the Kentucky Republican hasn’t mentioned sledding to the Capitol Police; aides for Senate Appropriations Chairman Thad Cochran, R-Miss., also disavowed any involvement in shutting out tobogganing enthusiasts. “The Senator has not weighed in on the sledding issue with the U.S. Capitol Police or any other authorities,” Team Cochran assured HOH via email.

In light of that

Someone LIED

Most likely the RACIST HOMOPHOBIC Cops

Yeah, things are all humming along nicely with the Republicans fully in charge. They put the govern in government.

Law

Sledding
No person shall coast or slide a sled within Capitol Grounds. Skiing With the exception of the use of cross-country skis or snowshoes as a means for transportation, no person shall ski on any area within Capitol Grounds.

The ban on sledding took effect in the winter of 2001, along with a slew of other security restrictions. The rule is stern and unambiguous: "No person shall coast or slide a sled within Capitol Grounds."

2001 for those that missed it
