Dear Sue,
I thank you for your concern over my marriage, but said marriage is nonexistent. I think marriage is a bit much for an 18 year old girl such as myself, but every once in awhile, I can squeeze a failing marriage into my stories. I drew inspiration directly from the movie "American Beauty", since I would have loved it if Lester and Janie's friend (her name escapes me) would have actually hooked up in the movie, but it never happens. So the story was like an alternate completion to what happens in the movie, only I added my own characters and my own spin on things. But the fact that you seem convicted that the story came from my own experiences is quite a compliment; I seem to have captured the essence of a crumbling marriage fairly well for someone who wouldn't even know the first thing about being married.
