Too much food. How about you?

nope- I'm the one that thinks that you can't have too much of a good thing.

but if you get philosophical, "good thing" takes on all new meanings.

In terms of food, I'm one of those people that eat to live, not live to eat, you know?

Nope Native American. Plus a lot more that makes me a mutt. Are you pure Celt?

Not quite

Things got a little mixed about 5 generations ago. I associate closely with my Celtic roots though.

Do you relate to your Native American heritage?

Of course I do. I am the last of my line to be considered Chippewa. My children will not be in the tribe. It kind of amkes me sad.

Don't you think that is sad?

It is always sad when the old ways die away.

Will you educate them in their heritage?

No, I do not live near my tribe. I have been to many ceremonies and such. It is such and awe inspiring thing.

What can you tell me about the Celts?

what would you like to know? *keep in mind that "Celtic" is a very broad term, like Native American*

I can tell you that one my ancestors was a Druid priestesses, and honored the old ways. They walked the Path, and honored the Goddess. Their rituals, from what I've been able to find were awesome, and give me chills when I read them. I've not been able to translate all of the Gaelic for some of the rituals, but I've got time.

Very Cool!

One of my ancestors was a medicine man.

Isn't history fascinating?

LOL~ sometimes it can be.

I've had professors that totally kill the "facinating" part though.

I tend to lean towards the english side.

Are you a history buff?

I am a huge history buff, but I lean towards pre-colonial latin american and american history. I like reading about different tribes.

What about you?

I'm really enjoy English Literature, but my major is in Criminal Justice.

I love to read, but usually what I call brain candy. Fiction all the way, and it better have a happy ending too!

Have you studied history as part of a degree?

I have my degree in Spanish, which includes the language as well as the literature. I studied latin American culture and literature while I lived in Costa Rica. I graduated 2 credits shy of having a dual major of english and spanish. I am getting ready to go back to finish my masters and I may pick up those last 2 credits while I am there and get my masters in education to teach english and spanish.

Do you find it scary that there are teachers posting on literotic?

I have noticed that.

What advice do you have for a newbie of lit?

Beware the trolls- they are here and they are not nice. sometimes they leave you alone and sometimes they are a pain in the ass.

Never take what you read beyond a grain of salt- some people are just like that.

Always remember that what you read may not come across as the person who typed it intended.

Something else that seems to be a general misconception among newbies- most people are not what you see in AV's. Some are, just not all...

I might have missed something. *shrug*

Is that a good enough start?
