yes, I have... mostly it's because of his moving around... two pieces went down trying to get lined up to cut a sausage patty up himself... a kid has to learn doesn't he?

Do you ever put things on different plates so the waffle won't go flying off while he is cutting the sausage patty?

Then he can have more opportunities at washing dishes too! :D

Why? Get him started on easy things that he cant break or get hurt, put him on a chair so he can reach and teach him. My son was helping me clean since he was 2. Is that too young?

he has been helping, washing the sturdier items... I refuse to go to plastic for me (his dishes are plastic)... won't I have to deal with a lot of broken dishes over the years?

Not if you teach him properly and he's careful. I've only had 1 broken glass from my son in 13 years. That's pretty good isn't it?
