I'd go for "the meeting place" As a pretty new person here, that sounds inviting to me. Makes me think of a nice friendly place where you can just relax and get to know people.

Good point knightstalker. The meeting place does make sense from a newbie perspective. I'm glad you changed your mind about leaving Lit.

Glad I made a good point I don't do that often I just remember being a newbie and going to the general board first and that was a bit intimadating to me seemed like everyone there already knew each other and didn't really give newbies a break although i have met some of them and they are great people ..I like to meet all the newbies myself try to make them feel welcumed here ...I am rambling on now so I will shut up..Oh btw yes I have decidid to not let someone run me out of here and it is because of some special people here that changed my mind..Have a great day Des

2. Friends and Lovers
3. Relationships

Keep your suggestions and comments coming!

I prefer "Friends and Lovers". Almost all Relationships would fit one or the other (or both) of those categories. Those that don't probly don't belon in this forum, regardless of name.

Has anybody contacted the PROFESSIONAL Lit. people, the ones that operate this madhouse, to tell them about this thread? I have been informed that they almost ever read any of our treads/posts.

If we don't find away to get them to acknowledge us and our suggestions/complaints, nothing will change in the way we desire, only in ways they decide without our input (As with the recent change).

said to him that she would be more than willing to change
the name.....but suggested that he get input first from
us Lit members!

Let's see if we can come up with 4 or 5 things, and then take a poll. Remember, every board has a one or two line description for it, so try to come up with that too.

For example, my suggestion:

"THE HOT TUB", a place for friends and lovers to meet.

which I thought incorporates the fact that many people here started in Syd's Hot Tub in the chat room, and keeps the 'friends and lovers' that people seem to like too....(and what newbie wouldn't want to go for a soak in the Hot Tub?)

I asked her to check out this thread. No response from her yet.

I agree that newbies might be attracted to "The Meeting Place". I still prefer "Friends and Lovers". And I agree with the setiment of many, I want to be able to find my friends and my threads.

Change is inevitable, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! And there are ways to bring about changes that cause less stress for all involved than the way this change occurred.

Hi all,

I suggested to Cyberguy to start this thread so that all involved could have input on the new name change. I'll pop back in here every so often, but once a consensus on the new name is reached, feel free to PM me with the name and I will change it at my earliest convenience.

Incidentally, I've received many happy, thankful emails from people who wished to place Personals ads in the Personals forum, and now feel more confident in doing so because their ads will not be buried amidst general conversation. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have been gracious during this change, and have allowed these people their space as well. They are grateful, and so am I.
