G'day good gentles!
Lords and ladies, knights and noble people, serfs and wenches!

Well......I have only 2 months till the start of the Faire here in Wisconsin! I can't wait! It's what I look forward to all year round! I travel to other faires too! I want to know if anyone else out there finds this stuff to be fun & addictive!!

Tell me where you've been to a faire! Please feel free to post any pictures of you in your costumes! Tell me who your favorite acts or musicians are! Post the web sites here! I'm looking for new fairs & other peoples opinions on this wonderful way to spend a day or 18 in my case!

I work Bristol....Wisconsin.
I have also been to Minnesota, and to Stronghold's Olde English Festival. Hoping for Michigan & Kansas City this year!

Ticket Wench!

Well....this is me at my home faire...Bristol!!!

My favorite is Scarborough Renaissance Faire in Waxahache, TX. We spent the day out there today.

Other Faires we have been to:

Cavalier Dayes, Bastrop Tx, but no longer around

Arizona Renaissance Faire

Texas Renaissance Faire, Plantersville, TX

Hawkwood Medieval Fantasy Faire, Tx

Four Winds Renaissance Faire, Tyler, Tx

Next year we hope to make the Kansas City Faire & possible the Bristol Faire. Is the Bristol Faire the one in Wisconsin?
We always dress in garb, I spend more on Faire clothes than my mundane wardrobe. My fiancee makes wooden forks & spoons, we are trying to get juried into Scarborough as guest artists next year. We loved The Flaming Idiots, they were at Scarborough for years. Also like the Mud Show & Donal Hinely. Donal & his brother had an act called Glasnots that was wonderful. Terry was killed in a car accident, so Donal is now a solo. Ded Bob is hilarious, we saw him in Arizona & at TRF. Local favorites are Queen Anne's Lace & Para Celt. I keep hoping to win the lottery, so I can take a few years off to travel the faire circuit.

I love the Renaissance fairs. I stock up on all my scented oils, and kick-ass jewelry for the year.

I haven't had the money for any costumes, but I desperately want a corset.

My favorite part is when they do a little comedy skit, and folks get slung around in the mud.

Ded Bob!

I love Ded Bob! He played at Bristol for a year! We loved him there!

Well...here's me & him!

I go to the fair they hold in Ohio. But they don't hold it until the end of september. It runs for about a month. The greatest draw to it is a gut named Christophe the insulter. I just love watching the costumes and trying all the foods :)

I am a Rennie as well :D I don't have any pics scanned in but I will try later. So far, my favorite faire is Arizona Ren Faire. Dead Bob Rocks but the Crystal Stix people (Bill and Janet) are awesome just to kick back and learn from. I have been playing stix for years now.

Check out eBay! That's where I got both of mine!

teresafannin we were out there today also. We go to Scarborough every year. The wife (ARaynes) has a season pass. I don't get to go as much so i don't have one this year.

Christophe also works our fair here in Wi! He is great!! Will have to try Ohio!!

We had a great time at the Arizona Faire. The only thing I wish they would have done differently is have the cast interact more with the patrons. We are spoiled at Scarborough in that our Good King Henry VIII & Queen Anne Boleyn are very approachable. Our Queen was pictured on the cover of Renaissance Magazine & we were very excited. Christophe is at Scarborough again this year, we have mutual friends in common. The National Jousting Tourney will be held at Scarborough over Memorial Day weekend & we will be there for that, several of our friends are squires who work with the Free Lancers.

We get season tickets every year & have been twice this season & will be back out there the weekend after next. One of my best friends is a hair braider, so we hang out with her quite a bit. I bought a dress at Hot Topic, it isn't exactly period, but will be wonderful when the hot weather kicks in. We are definitely enjoying the cooler weather at Scarborough thus far, there have been years when the heat has been brutal. If anyone would like to meet out there, send me an email, we love to meet new people. Our other favorite hangout is the Book Faire, Joe is one of my favorite people in the world. I am usually in purple, if that narrows it down any;)

Denver! Actually, it's in Larkspur, just down the road a piece from the Mile High City. I like going on the first day when everything's fresh and exciting, then again on the last day for the bargains :D

My favorite acquisition is a lovely little black suede cat o'nine tails decorated with little red plastic hearts at the ends. The leather vendor who dragged me into his stall said it was meant for me, wonder what he meant ;)

Wow White! I just don't know!!!

I have a friend in Colorado & hope to make it out there sometime to see that fair!!

Btw--here's another of me in my costume!

I have gone to the Renaissance Festival in Magnolia, Texas.

We went 2 years ago and had a wonderful time. That was my first time going & I thought it was going to be small & cheesy but was I wrong !

It was amazing & it was acres & acres of booths, games, food stands, tarot readers, music all over the place and anything and every thing you can think of ... I loved how they refered to us as " my lady " we had a wonderful time. :)

I would love to go once again. :)

I haven't been at faire in three years now. I am living in New Orleans now and I don't know of any faires anywhere near me. Any advice?

There is one Nov 2-Dec 8....Louisiana Renaissance festival in Hammond, LA!

Hi Sateema, I am not exactly sure of these locations in comparison to New Orleans, but according to Renaissance Magazine, there is a faire in Hammond, LA. It runs from Nov 2-Dec 8, 2002. The web site is www.larf.org.

I used to go once a year to the New York Renaissance Faire. It was a lot of fun. There were things such as the "Beggars o'Muck", "Instant Shakespeare", and a hysterical juggling act called the "Flaming Idiots".

My turn!

The wife said I had to post my picture from the Bristol Faire, so here it is. Something about men in kilts, the women might like it...
