hi all

whats the best way to remove pubic hair?

I have tried shaving but it takes ages and is a bit tricky around the balls

"Best" depends on a lot of factors, such as your preferences, skin, schedule and budget.

I've tried many methods, and apart from trimming close, I think waxing is the best. If you go for waxing, go to a good professional the first 2-3 times at least. Home waxing is possible, though most people need a helper who knows what they're doing as well as good wax and a warmer. I've heard some say they've had more luck sugaring on their own. If you want permanent results and have the money, laser removal is the way to go.

On my hubby, I'm perfectly happy with a trim up top (just long enough that's it's not scratchy) and smoothness from the balls down/back.

If you haven't done so already, check out the Hair Removal section of The Blank Manual sticky. You might find something like Magic Shave (a depilatory for ethnic men's beards) worth trying - just make sure you do the patch test 24 hours in advance and don't use any depilatory on a day you're planning on being intimate with someone, since it's not uncommon to develop allergies to the chemicals and depilatories leave a residual smell that's not attractive.

I prefer just to trim mine, very short. It gives me the same feeling, and you don't get all the scratchy feelings. I use a hair trimmer. The balls however, I usually try to shave those. It takes some time, but i think its worth it!

Weed Whacker for the Tallywhacker, but you gotta be careful around the sensitive parts. :D

I've found that flossing is a good way to remove pubic hair when it is stuck in my teeth.

I vote with SweetErika for waxing. I feel like a rock star when I am done. But I can't guarantee it will have that effect on everyone :)
If you can't tolerate the discomfort, then trimming with an electric razor is a good way to get close and avoid razor burn.

Creams work ok, but some can be wicked on your skin. So definitely do the recommended patch test.

It may be the types he has, but my hubby has tried using his electric razors, and they really do tend to pull and nick, especially on the balls.

We use an electric hair trimmer that has a smaller facial hair trimmer on the other side. I have to go with that option because my hair is fine so I need the "teeth" of the trimmer to be closer together than those of a hair trimmer.

We've also used those small wand/pen-type shavers in the past, and they work fairly well, although you can't control the length of the hair and the ones with angled heads work better for pubic hair.

Seiko makes an electric shaver for intimate areas called the Cleancut, and I've heard pretty good things about that here and elsewhere. Note: I just grabbed the first link from Google, so you can likely find a better deal with some searching if you're interested in getting one.

Hubby just straight up shaves his. I know that he used to trim it first, then shave it. The upper portion above his cock, he just trims short, he says it itches if he shaves it :(

Have you tried hair removal cream? I use crotex hair removal cream to get rid of my unwanted hair forever.

I've been using a combination of electric razor (for the main mowing action) and standard disposable (for detail or crevice work). Between the two, I haven't had much trouble getting rid of everything, but I don't have much body hair to begin with (which is less a factor in pubic hair, but may be relevant nonetheless). Also, it might be an anatomy thing. I have no trouble shifting things around in order to get the disposable razor where it needs to go, but if you are, you know, more endowed than I am, which is entirely possible, maybe it's trickier for you. *shrugs*

Also, I re-shave once every few days. I don't have a lot of hair growth, so it can take that long to get a five-o'clock shadow on my face. In other words, "once every few days" probably represents a different amount of growth on me than it does on you. But the point I'm trying to make is that if you keep it manageable that way, it's easier. (Sometimes I don't shave my face for like a week, at which point it takes a lot longer because there's just that much more to deforest. Pubes are the same.)

Shaving cream and a good razor. I used a man's disposable razor. Usually the first couple shaves might give your a little razor burn but after you shouldn't get too much of it if you keep up with it. It does come back rather quickly this way. I wouldn't recommend shaving daily - a friend of mine does it, but if I do, I get BAD itchies. Once a week works well for me. Wish I had the money for laser removal. I'm too shy to go to a waxer and I hear it costs a LOT

Laser is a huge investment (trust me) - waxing can be expensive, but it wasn't too horrible and well worth the money and add the fact that you're smooth for several weeks. Furthermore, after a few waxing sessions, one can start experimenting with home waxing, which is considerably cheaper.

By the way, you expose yourself more through laser than through waxing, and for much longer time.

Your mileage may vary.

If you can do the money for professional waxing and can find someone near you who will do it, it is the best option IMO. It gets you super smooth, lasts longer and the hair grows back finer.

Chemicals work well, but you have to be really careful with them. Shaving is a good option, and I would use a good 5 blade system in the big places and a bikini mini razor for the tight spots and the nether regions of your ass.

My lady gets crazy turned on when I'm super smooth front and back. YMMV

I use a hair trimmer and Mach 3 razor. I shave the balls and around the penis with the razor, after the first couple of times, the itchness goes away mostly, or if you don't do it often. Use the trimmer up top, on the smallest setting, than I run the razor over going downward, just to get it a little closer. Make sure to use a new razor or at least a fairly sharp one.

Do make sure the hair is nice and wet before starting. I don't use shave cream, just warm water in the shower, and keep the razor clean. Never cut myself this way:)

remove hair?

Use a blow lamp, not on a high setting and don't hold it in the same place for to long :D

any kids reading this, get permission from an adult before trying.....

The best way

The Best way (if you can afford it): Laser hair removal....
second (also expensive): Wax....(professional)
Third: razor (mach 3) or find a really good wet/dry electric.

We use Nair(tm): yes, you can get a chemical burn.... follow the instructions. it works very well, and don't buy via price... you get what you pay for....

Yeah but in the long run you wouldn't have to keep going in to expose. A local OBGYN does it in my area. You can go in for a consult. I imagine hair removal down there isn't as expensive as the legs. I figure I expose myself to people there anyhow LOL! I don't know anything about the process, I know depending on the area it CAN be 6-8 treatments with a follow up here and there. But from what I've read that seems mainly for legs and stuff. I guess it would depend on how hairy you are too...and I'm really not. I have no idea, just sounds like it would be so much easier. I had read somewhere that its like $2000. But again, depends on where you go and what you get done.

I just hate that I'm not 100% smooth all the time. When I shave it only lasts that day and the next day there is a little stubble but not enough to reshave otherwise I'll get razor burn :(

I'd like to know how to remove pubic hair from the back seat of my mom's Studebaker. I've tried vacuuming it out, but it keeps coming back.

Not really. There's usually a minimum of 6 treatments of between 6-8 weeks and that means the technician goes over the area each and every single time. As it was explained to me when I went in for my preliminary interview, hair grows in various cycles - if the hair is killed at the initial cycle, then the removal is usually permanent. No one can predict which hair is at what cycle of growth, therefore they go over the area each and every time. And it's slow. When I waxed, complete legs and bikini took me about 45 minutes. Whenever I am going for my treatment (half legs and bikini), I'm there for a minimum of 2 hours and half hours. Furthermore, it has nothing to do with how hairy you are. You shave before you go in, and the amount of skin that the technician goes over is the same regardless of the amount of hair. Price wise, it depends on where you live, if you buy a package or not, if you go to a certified technician and the type of laser used.

Laser is not a 100%, but for the right candidate, it can be 95%, which for many (like myself) is completely worth it.

If you are worried about the stubble, then do try waxing. Aestheticians really don't care - they are there to get a job done, and you won't have a problem with stubble. And if you're shy, let them know, and they will provide modesty sheets or have you keep your underwear one. However, in laser, you do not have that luxury.

My gf did laser hair removal, took her 8 treatments, was worth every penny! Six monthes since her last treatment and still no hair!!
I use shave lotion from Lush, works great, no itch, no ingrown hairs!!

My partner & I did ours yesterday. I used Nair on my balls etc & she used a product called Epil-Stop. Both worked well, no burning and very smooth.

....

Done the lot and now settled on waxing. A much better job but it was embarrasing at first when she said to me "hold my lips to one side so she could get at hairs close to my labia". I only trust this one woman now.

I use epil-stop after my waxing and it really helps. I'll admit its a little pricier getting waxed, however that also depends on where you live. When I lived on the east coast it was considerably cheaper since its done more often. Now that I live in a land locked state the price goes up because most people only do it as a summer thing. I also used to wax at home and have my hubby help me with it. Unfortunately hes deployed so I resorted to throwing down the extra money to have someone else do it.

I shave myself about twice a month, tomorrow is when ill shave again. I just feel cleaner and more hygenic after. Also it makes me look forward to a post shave whak-off. Whitch makes me hard. Whitch on being hard, i find that having my cock erect helps me alot to get into those harder to reach areas to pardon the pun. I do all my cock, balls inbetween my legs and i also do my ass hole as well, just to feel totally fresh underneath as well. I also do it sitting on the edge of the bath as with hot water it makes the shave much closer. I also renew the razor blade every couple of months as well as my pubes dont grow too fast now as when i started it was every couple of days at least i had to shave.

However id like to try a wax, but could be too painful.

However, id like to try a [http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=braun+silk-epil&tag=googhydr-21&index=drugstore&hvadid=6752677326&ref=pd_sl_10jzregk87_b#/ref=sr_st?keywords=braun+silk-epil&qid=1310584012&rh=n%3A65801031%2Ck%3Abraun+silk-epil&sort=-price]Epilator[/URL] to see what it can do for me. As ive heard many good things of what a Epilator can do for hair removal. Ive read one review that it made the womnan feel so good that she gave up going to get waxed, she just buys a new epilator every year or so now. However she still gets a "birthday" as a treat for herself.
