American Revolution (1775-1783)
Total Servicemembers 217,000
Battle Deaths 4,435
Non-mortal Woundings 6,188
World War II may have had the greats generation, but there was the first generation. The first warriors of the new nation. From George Washington who kept the struggle going no matter what the odds to Joseph P. Martin a young Sergeant who would see every major battle of the war one has to say thanks. They risked all by taking up arms against the cousins. They risked everything and had an uncetain future. Many lost homes and property as well as loved ones. Many went bankrupt and in some cases lost their minds. In the end though these veterans would be among those to help form a new republic. So on the forth remember the first who stepped forward and risked it all for a grand experiment.
Thank you to all those who are serving the military on this day that we celebrate our indepence. We celebrate but you make it possible.
