I have a particularly special memory of my dad at christmas time. As excited as I was for christmas morning, it was actually christmas eve that I looked forward to the most.

That was the SPECIAL night for my family - it was just the four of us, and my mom would go all out making some amazing, fancy meal, and we'd dress in our very best. And after we were all ready, my sister and I would kneel at the big bay window and wait for daddy to come home from work. When he was ready, we'd all enjoy a very yummy 7 course dinner ....that was sweet torture to two little girls who knew that they got to open one gift each after dessert was done (which was ALWAYS cherries jubilee, because us girls always begged to light it on fire over and over and over). And then my dad would sit each of us on his knee and read aloud "Twas The Night Before Christmas". After that we bundled up and went out to watch Santa come by on the local fire engine before he took to the sky.

One of my best memories, and one that makes me miss my childhood most.

I remember these books from childhood....and I have a feeling Santa will be putting a few under the tree for my son and I to read at bedtime.

As a kid I got a this "Johnny West" action figure and his horse.............To this day I have no idea if Johnny boy was a real person or just a made up action figure...........with my luck it would probably be worth something if I had cared about it and kept it.
