Sunday will be 3.14. That is both Einstein's birthday and International Pi Day. Remember to hoist a flagon at 1.59 a.m. And given that we have 24 time zones, you can choose which one you're celebrating. ;)

And yes, it is still relatively early on the Left Coast. HM is in the shower and we will be leaving in about an hour. She doesn't like to move very fast on Saturdays.

Beats the heck out of celebrating St. Patty's Day (IMHO). I mean, all he did was chase out snakes (aka pagans) from Ireland. Consider what Einstein and Pi have done for the world by compare!

It is also Steak and a BJ day :D
There ya go! What does St. Paddy's day get you but green beer, Irish music and parades. But 3-14 gets you all day drinking, mathematical discussions, a steak and a blow-job!

Jeez, what more can an intelligent man desire! :D

Yes, I know a rhyme assisting my feeble brain oft times resisting.
3----1--4---1---5-------9-------2----6------5----3----5------9

How I remembered pi to 11 places in high school. Now 25 years later, I still remember. Thank you Dr. Krypton.

A brilliant mind that changed the world, and was a hell of a party animal, and had great hair.

Apart from the sheer fun (?) of division, and the fact that it has no end:
why do we bother with more than, say, five decimal places (apart, perhaps, from interplanetary navigation).

3.141592

And it all started with Archimedes . . . . . .

Speaking of rich, luscious desserts...it's Pi day, I suppose I should make a pie? Hm. What kind....

Because some day, I hope to navigate between planets, and I want to be ready.

Buttermilk Pie

This recipe sounds pretty close to the one that my dad used to make. I am going to make one. They kick ass. Nice custard sweet flavor.

Yum! Sounds delicious. Hmmm. I wonder if rhubarb is in season yet...I'd love to make a rhubarb custard pie.

This one is very good and very easy. You can also leave out the coconut and pour the mixture over sliced peaches {canned are fine, just drain them first}.

Amazing coconut pie

I printed that one off. I think there are some interesting variations for this recipe, like yours with the peaches.

I like to sprinkle a tiny bit of freshly-grated nutmeg in the mixture. Of course, fresh fruit, peaches, blueberries or raspberries, is the best.

I wonder if you could add a little rum to the mix and finish with nutmeg on top.

I'm pretty sure you can add rum to just about anything. Just adjust the liquid accordingly.

Oh, but Everclear makes a pretty spectacular fireball. You might want to wear safety glasses for that one.

Fried chicken, biscuits, greens with buttermilk pie for dessert? Wow, y'all . . . ;)

Sunday dinner. Except you missed the fried okra, black-eyed peas, cream gravy, mashed potatoes and peach cobbler for those that want something different from pie.
