This is for photos, artwork, links and ideas for those who are aroused by religious parallels in BDSM and sex in general.

If you want to debate the ultimate truth of orthodox Christianity or any other religion, please post that here.

This thread is for those already converted to the Church of Our Lady of Delightfully Warped ReligioSexuality. And those curious about becoming, um, members.

It can be as subtle as a photo of a gothic cathedral designed to make the supplicant feel small and insignificant, or as crude as cheezy videos of nun sex. It can be an ancient statue of a fertility goddess. BDSM photos that are particularly ritualized, someplace you'd like to fuck, items in the news, why something turns you on or doesn't...

Please stay for coffee and collars afterward.

A news clip for your thread.

And, personally, the sexual link to religion is hot. Too bad there isn't more (good) erotic literature involving men and women of the cloth.

One of the first fully formed fantasies that I ever had was a minister popping my cherry on the alter while lecturing me harshly about god. Which evolved into hiding in the pulpit and being made to do naughty things while he delivered the sermon...

Then I discovered some of the aspects of Catholicism and that just snowballed into it's own corner of my brain.

Yeah, something about religious sex just gives the extra bit of naughty to make it incredibly hot.:D

I like this thread.

I'm thinking that the canon of the Saints may be a good place to start...

A is for AGATHA

Patron saint of breast cancer, nurses, and bell makers.

Saint Agatha, whose name means "good," was a woman of wealth and noble birth who lived in Catania during the era of the late Roman empire. She was an early convert to Christianity and vowed to live a life of chaste virginity. She was pursued by Quintian, the lecherous Roman governor of Sicily who wanted to marry her, but she resisted his attempts to overcome her vow of chastity and virginity.

He then had her thrown into a brothel and then into a prison where she continued her resistance by converting her jailers to the Christian faith. While imprisoned, she was tortured long and horribly, during which time her breasts were torn off with pincers.

She was then sent to the stake to be burned alive but a miraculous earthquake occurred, and she was spared from the flames only to die in prison

There's really nothing about Christianity (or its officiants) that I find sexy - possibly because I'm not Christian. Hard to say.

It's hard to beat Hindu temples for "religious" inspiration. So flexible, those ancient Indian folks!

I'm not Christian either. Haven't been for a very long time. Personally, the idea of religious play adds to the submission/power dynamic and brings a very hard edge to the ritualistic part. That and there's something very psychological about getting fucked by 'the church.'

It would work with most religions with me, it's just that Christianity is the one I know best.

There is an incredible about of sexuality involved in some of the Eastern and Asian religions though - especially when you start looking at the ancient foundations. Damn, some of those can make a girl blush.

My faith in this thread has been strengthened, chy, JMohegan and Aquila!

Absolutely, I never intended for the thread to be "Christian"; just religious. As essentially a Pantheist, I'm probably going to post some sensual nature images. If you're all reeeeally good, it'll be squirrels fucking. :D

I like the saint-by-saint idea. A lot. And, fuck, the Hindu images...

I bow to your abilities with the holy Google Image Search.

Huh. I've never considered sex in relation to a smudge stick...

Wonder what that does for the sexual energy in the room?

smudging a room or house puts me into a trance. letting the smoke rise up each corner of the room, drifting over the windows and up to the ceiling. whispering prayers of cleansing and purification. it engulfs me. plus the smell of freshly burnt sage.
*reaches for peace pipe and passes to chy*

I love smudging my house. Whether it's the actual smudge stick or if it's just being able totally drop the walls and be a conduit for the energy, I don't know, but it's very awe inspiring when you let yourself go... Almost like being the tide as opposed to riding the tide.

About a week ago, the idea struck of combining energy work/play with sex - to bring the pureness of that into pleasuring one's PYL and incorporate the intent of that kind of healing/renewing/smoothing energy into a sensual, sexual act...

Now I can't help but wonder how sage and/or sweet grass effect that.

If you did it right, I bet that could be very near to the 'earth moving' category.

The part in bold may be the difference.

I've never been Christian. Never experienced the rituals, never seen nuns and priests as anything other than people in unflattering costumes, never felt the power of the church or fear of god or anything of that sort.

To me, eroticizing ministers, altars, nuns, and whatnot is like eroticizing garbage collectors. I have no frame of reference for associating a submission/power dynamic to the whole thing.

Having toured the cathedral in Old San Juan, however, I will say that the Catholic obsession with torture is nothing short of astounding. The place is packed with depictions of people being tortured in all manner of graphic and gruesome ways. It was absolutely fascinating - though my primary thought was surprise that they let children into the building.

I was actually baptized in the Church of the Nazarene. Never been to a Catholic service in my life. But if one isn't familiar with the domineering, 'god-fearing,' finger-shaking of strongly religious environments they most likely wouldn't get power dynamic part of it.

Yeah, the Catholic church is an interesting bunch. There's a very little, very little known book published by a little academic publishing company that talks in-depth about the priests action during the the Spanish Conquest. Evidently that whole moral code thing didn't apply so much in the early 1500.
