I am pretty well versed in bible text and I do not believe anywhere in it, it says sex in the ass is a sin. The closest it comes is using the phrase "unnatural relations" and there are some references about a man's seed being spilt on the ground.

In the account of unatural relations, this is more in reference to same gender sex. In the account of the man's seed beinng spilt on the ground, it wasn't the spilling of the seed on the ground which was a sin, but rather it was the man was required by law to give the woman an heir. He didn't want to do it because he didn't want the responsibility or to see any of his own inherietence be passed, so he had sex with her then pulled out. He was then punished for such a thing.

In either case, it depends really on how far you want to stretch the interpretation. I know many churches have doctrine (i.e. their interpretation of what the bible text is) but no where in the text does it say that sex in the ass is a sin. Obviously the roman catholic church believes that sex is only for procreation, hence any form of sex that would circumvent this, to include using birth control would be considered by the "church's doctrine" a sin. Again, doctrine is not what the bible says as much as it is an interpretation of what the church says it is.

You cannot set aside the religious aspects if you are going to use the word "SIN". Sine is only a religious term and only has meaning from a religious context. You might be able to rephrase and say is ass sex right or wrong as a moral issue.

So if you are a religious person and you interpret unnatural relations, the spilling of seed, or sex of any kind where procreation is prohibited, then the answer would be yes ass sex is a sin. If you opt for the literal translation of what the words actual say, then no. No where in the bible does it say ass sex is a sin(except where homosexuality is implied).

If one says ass sex is a sin, then its likely the same criteria they use to make such a claim can also then include oral sex, masturbation, etc...and the like where ejaculation takes place and there is no chance for procreation to take place.

Setting aside any religous and just focusing on the moral of wheather is it good or bad...the only criteria I would say ass sex is bad is when consent is not present between both people.

It's not a sin to ride an ass, but I think bestiality is forbidden in all 50 states and most nations. I don't recall any Bible texts that prohibit it; however, it's been a long time since I read the Bible.

There are some states where pretty much everything most people here on Lit do would be considered "a sin" or at least illegal... but that's their problem, not mine ("they" meaning the closed-minded idiots who say it's illegal/wrong/sinful/etc). I don't think it's a sin at all, religious or not.
