I spend a lot of time thinking about social injustice and official arrogance. That is, about how the system abuses average people.

I think, too, about economics. I'm reading books about the 1929 CRASH and the modern US Federal Reserve. I want to get a better idea of how we screw ourselves with money and trade.

I devote a lot of time studying social intercourse; how people fuck with each other and why they do it.

And I study how to get editors to publish what I write.

Australia has several of the world's most deadly creatures - spiders, snakes, ants, jellyfish, fish and the Great White Shark.

I've met too many of them (and eaten some!).

Already, the Bush administration and the two presumed Presidential Candidates are crying, RUSSIAN AGGRESSION and making both veiled and not so veiled threats to the Russians. THE BIG LIE that it's all Russia's fault is already well established. It's also known that Putin wants to reestablish a return to something like the Stalinist type of rule. Our actions have given him a big boost in that direction.

So what's at stake? Why BIG OIL of course, to the tune of TRILLIONS of $$$$$ of reserves and a pipeline to determine who controls it.

This situation has 1962 CUBA (modern version) written all over it. Maybe some of you know just how very close to nuclear war the world came that fall

Please report any sightings of Red-eared Slider Turtles. You may be helping to save waterways for Australian turtles and fish.

This American species is kept illegally in Australia and has become an invasive feral pest in several States. Closely related species are also here illegally. Two Red-eared Slider Turtles have been found recently in the ACT. One was an escaped pet and the other was living in a dam near the Murrumbidgee River.

It is desirable to prevent this species spreading through the Murray-Darling Basin if possible. Environment and Recreation has followed up reported sightings and trapped and netted intensively where the Red-eared Slider was found in the wild. Only native turtles have been found. Observant people can help by downloading the identification poster to find out the differences between Red-eared Sliders and local native turtles.

People keeping exotic pets of a type which has not already become feral pest are requested to take strong precautions. Aquarium plants and animals, reptiles and ferrets are types that have a proven record of establishing in the wild near the ACT. Please be responsible. Illegally held species can be surrendered.
